A Small On The Go Tool Kit Must
A Small On The Go Tool Kit Must The 3-in-1 Wire Stripper were the main reason I bought this for this price it wasn't bad, they are most deferentially are not German engineered perfection but you cant expect that at this price point and the wire terminals worked cant really say much more about them. The reason I bought this was for my small tool bag I kept in my car and for that purpose they are great. Now the reason I gave them only 3 stars because they are just what they should be nothing more or less. The box is kind of week it doesn't really have a long life span. Half of the bags of terminals are not even open yet and already the box is not right. The locking system just is not made to last, this has seen at most light use and already wont stay closed with out Duck Tape. Now that's not that big of deal to me but still would be nice if I didn't have to worry about it busting open in my bag. As for the stripper they work fine nothing special but the handle is very nice. Unlike other cheap ones that are kind of just a dipped plastic and your hand can easily slip on this one you can get a good solid grip on them. I would say this little kit is perfect for a car tool bag or for an apartment. If you own a house I would say you should be looking at other options, you can use them there no problem but as a homeowner you should have a bit better when it comes to your tools as that can much of and investment into your house as any other part is. Please note if you are going to keep them in a trunk as I did, I would throw a splash of lube on them so they don't rust. Mine showed a couple little spots that were easy enough to clean off. Not the products fault don't think they are really outside rated. But over all good enough of a secondary or small on the go tool kit must. I have had this little kit for about 10 months now and as I said not much special about them. They did meet all of my needs and expectations. To put into perspective or to compare them to something else, I would say Harbor Freight level but ever so slightly better.

Inexpensive ... but that's the sole benefit.
The low price on this surprised me, so I bought it. Cool to get the tool and wire connectors all in one.I did end up returning it though, for a few reasons. As many mentioned, the included tool/crimpers are really poor. They don't open/close smoothly and mine didn't crimp the connectors properly.I used about 5 wire connector and none crimped right. This could be because the wire terminals are poor quality or it was the crimper tool not squeezing them right.Lastly ... the crimpers fit in the plastic box and some of the compartment walls are reduced height to fit the tool. Therefore, you have to leave all the connectors in their bags or else (if tipped) they'll slide to other compartments. A bit of a pain to always open and reseal the little bags (they do each come in individual bags so they don't mix from the factory).Overall...You have consider the very-low price when buying this. You do get a lot or the money, just nothing of decent quality (IMHO).I couldn't find any other tool/connector kits. So purchased each separately and spent about double the price of this (you get what you pay for)

You Get What You Pay For
We bought package because it looked like a good value - good variety of colors and styles. The tool is poorly constructed - it comes together in front to cut wire, but doesn't come together in back so it won't crimp or strip wire. The terminal metal is a bit thin but seem to work ok as long as you don't pull too hard on the crimped wire.Since the box is made for the tool, the dividers don't come up all the way, so you need to leave the terminals in the little baggies which is a bit inconvenient.

Might as well not have included the tool.
If you are thinking of buying this because it comes with a tool... don't bother. The tool is useless: Its way small (like child size small), its riveted so tight as to make it awkward to use and made in such a way that the sides do not come together enough for the wire stripper portion to actually work (see photo). The only reason I am not returning this item is because I needed the connectors quickly, so have already used some.

Great set for the price.
I'm kind of mystified why the reviews are so harsh on the crimping tool. For the price, it was a good deal even without the tool or organizer box. I was going to buy a bag of 100 splices then saw this kit of 175 pieces plus the crimper and box for less.I have a bunch of cheap crimping tools I've accumulated over the years that are perfectly functional -- this one is better than those. Ok, I take that back a little bit - none of them are very functional at stripping small wires - they just aren't made that precise - but this one worked better and I was able to strip the trailer wires without resorting to my knife.Anyway, if you just need to do some minor wiring now and then, this is fine. If you need to crimp wires for a living, you probably want to buy a professional tool and should think about buying your connectors in bulk.

Have a tool problem? How's this for a solution? Amazon 313B
One look at the tool it came with (red handled pics on the left) and I knew I just had to do something. So I found the 313B tool on Amazon (Yellow handled pics on the right). Cut the two dividers 2nd from the right, back a 1/2" each; and you've got it. Works for me; How about for you?

This is what you buy for the rainy day.
For that time when you suddenly need what it does to get home. I would not recommend it for professional use as ratchet and hydraulic tools are needed for a serious high reliability job. This tool is like a Swiss Army Knife as if carefully used can suffice for many jobs and it comes in a small package with almost all options covered. It is what it is and if it is the only thing you have it will save you the cost of the package in gas to get what you need at moments over time. I keep thousands of wire terminations on hand and they take up a couple cubic feet of space. This tool is the one that is in the bottom of the tool box of my mini truck. When space and function collide this is a good deal.

The terminals are fine, but if you are buying this kit
The terminals are fine, but if you are buying this kit, you are specifically buying it for the wirestripper/crimpers, otherwise you would just buy terminals. The wirestrippers don't strip, and the crimpers don't crimp. The second picture (of just the tool) is all you need to look at. That tool is FULLY closed. Look just above the handle, do you see how there is still a gap where you are supposed to strip the wires. That gap doesn't go away, and as such it does not strip the wire.Secondly the crimpers at the top do not adequately crimp the terminals. I used a test terminal with some wire, and after squeezing as tightly as I possibly could, I still easily pulled the wire out of the terminal after.I'm not going to make a big fuss because the terminals are still useful so it's not *quite* money down the drain, but I wanted a handheld stripper/crimper for work. I was very disappointed, and what struck me as so weird is the low low quality of this product, that I needed to go use my Neiko self-adjusting stripper/crimper to do the job which is a fantastic product. So I (incorrectly) assumed this product was also good quality. But it's not.

As hoped for.
Good for a light weight hobbyist I think. I have an RV to wire. I expect it will get me through with terminals to spare. There's probably better choices for the serious hobbyist. I know there's better crimpers, cutters and strippers.

Don't buy this product.
Horrible product!I had to return it. Metal, built quality, it was impossible to strip wires with gauge 18 or above because it simply doesn't close tight enough to do its job.I am not sure if I got a knockoff. When I decided to give it a try I saw so many good reviews that I just bought it.However, the product that I got was so horribly aligned and the metal quality was so poor that it cannot be rated even a 3-star product from the point of view of a very, very optimistic person. On the bright side, the box and the quick disconnects seemed to be OK. I didn't test them since I returned the product.

I would move on to a better set
It's quality is to be desired. Good little kit if you have only one job. I used up one of the trays setting up my stereo, between breaking a few and using the rest. I'll find a better quality set when I need one next time
