The new original series Suits delves into the fast-paced, high-stakes world of a top Manhattan corporate law firm where hotshot attorney Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht, Love and Other Drugs) makes a risky move by hiring the brilliant but unmotivated, Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams, Lost), as his new associate. The only problem is he doesn't have an actual law degree. With his encyclopedic knowledge and uncanny knack of remembering things, Mike proves to be a legal prodigy despite the absence of bonafide legal credentials. Bound by their secret, the two are forced to keep up the charade as they become an irrepressible duo. The series also stars Meghan Markle (CSI Miami), Gina Torres (Gossip Girl), Sarah Rafferty (Brothers and Sisters) and Rick Hoffman (Samantha Who). This 3-disc set features all 12 Season One episodes of Suits, the hit show that critics are hailing as, "crisp, clean and perfectly tailored" (TVFanatic.com). Disc 1 - Suits Season One Review: "You'll Be Fine - As Long As You Don't Wear That Suit." - Some shows take a few episodes to grow on me. That wasn’t the case with the USA Network show Suits. When the pilot was over, I couldn’t wait to see the next episode. And that continued for all 12 episodes of the first season. Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) is one of the most successful lawyers in New York. He hates taking on new associate lawyers, but he’s been forced to by his boss, Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres), one of the partners in the firm Pearson Hardman. Meanwhile, Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) is a loser just trying to enjoy life. He regularly takes law school admission tests for people. He’s been talked into doing a drug drop off by a friend, but when it goes wrong, he ducks into the room where Harveyis conducting his interviews. He impresses Harveywith his knowledge and winds up getting the job even though he has never actually gone to law school. So the two team up to keep Mike’s secret from the rest of the office including paralegal Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle) and Harvey’s administration assistant Donna (Sarah Rafferty). Then there’s Louis (Rick Hoffman), another hot shot lawyer at the firm assigned to oversee all the new lawyers who has a vendetta against Harvey which trickles down to Mike. Over the course of these twelve episodes, the lawyers handle many different cases. There are patent infringement, corporate takeovers, evictions, insider trading, and a wrongfully fired accountant. Meanwhile, Mike’s personal life gets complicated with his old friends and a new love triangle. Yes, the personal side of things can feel like a soap opera at times, but I really don’t mind. That’s because the characters jumped off the screen fully formed from the very beginning. And while Harvey and Mike are living a lie, I can’t help but love them. In fact, almost all the characters are great. The only one I really can’t stand in Louis who is so slimy and cocky it drives me crazy. But since he usually gets his comeuppance by the end of the episode, I don’t mind. And for those looking for strong women characters, you’ll certainly find that here. While Harvey and Mike may be the focus, Rachel and Donna don’t take gruff from anyone, and the men know it. Jessica as the boss, has more power, but she leverages that judiciously and ultimately is a stronger character for knowing when to be firm and when to be nice without playing games at all. Ultimately, this show is about Harvey and Mike and their relationship. Whether Harvey will admit it or not, he really likes Mike, and it shows in some of the chances he takes for him over the season. Mike, meanwhile, looks up to Harvey. With all the praise I've just heaped on the characters, I'm sure you won't be surprised when I say how great the acting is. Whether it's the witty banter or the more serious legal scenes, the cast handles it all with ease. And the show is fun. The last minute legal maneuvering is entertaining. But what really makes it great is the banter between the characters. Donna especially can get in some zingers. There are several laughs each episode in between court scenes. The only thing I don't like about the show is the language. They managed to work in an S word of F bomb in every episode. They also feel gratuitous to me and throw me out of the show for a moment. It's especially surprising because of any show on the USA Network, I'd expect to hear these words on just about any of them but this one. This three disc set contains all twelve episodes from the season in widescreen and full surround. Extras include the normal deleted scenes and blooper reel plus commentaries on the first and last episodes with the creators and stars Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams. Additionally, there's a Q&A with all the guys in the cast, the creators, plus Meagan Markle. I am anxiously awaiting the next season of Suits. If it lives up to the incredibly fun first season, I will love every minute of it as well. A well written dramedy that leaves you wanting more!
I'm an avid viewer of well written TV shows of just about every genre you can imagine. Just in 2016 until August, I've watched over 100 complete series from start to finish, many with at least 4 seasons. Amazon is my latest apparatus to find shows that I may not have seen yet or shows that I watch live on TV, and I have not been let down. I've seen at least 2/3 of the available content but Suits is one that I only saw a few episodes of at the time of the Pilot's release. To say that this show is watchable is an understatement. I'm very selective of how I rate shows and rarely do I say something is a 5/5, but Suits is definitely one of those rare entertainments that pushes all of the right buttons and leaves you wanting more. It doesn't have a lot of action but it leaves you wondering how the episode is going to play out right up until the very end. I find myself laughing more than I have at anything recently, and that is a pleasant surprise. Suits gets a 5/5 for content, humor, twists and turns and character development. You'll continually ask "What next?" and that is the measure of a well drawn up show in my well experienced book.

"SUITS": ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC SERIES OUT ON THE MARKET
I recently started watching "Suits" two months ago, as I was on the hunt for a law-based show. As an avid Ally McBeal fanatic, "Suits" naturally became my favorite show from the moment I finished the Pilot episode. "Suits" undeniably is full of moments of brilliance, with sharp, clever dialogue and unexpected plot twists. The show entertains an audience as it balances drama with humor and showcases the cutthroat world of corporate law in a captivating manner."Suits" undoubtedly made its mark on television and on me. I eagerly look forward to watching the show for its character dynamics, legal intrigue, and witty banter.

Ebbs and flows
I found this show to be a little inconsistent but overall liked it. It ebbs and flows through the first and second seasons, starting and ending strong enough, but in the middle it became more white noise while I zoned out than anything. I did like the change in format in the second season, from a House-like 'new case every episode' model, to a continuous case followed throughout the season, but it seems like the show is still trying to decide the exact formula it wants to use in the third and forth seasons. I wouldn't agree with the reviewers saying it uses "witty" dialogue. It's about professionals and they speak in a semi-professional manner to each other; that's not the definition of wit. It's still enjoyable, but I think reviewers use the word "wit" to simply mean they like the character interactions rather than in the true definition of the word sometimes. For the 'girly parts', the love interests, I honestly haven't liked any of them. I found all girlfriends of the main characters annoying rather than endearing, and the most forced relationship in the show, I keep finding myself rooting for a break-up when the attempted angst comes rather than being on the edge of my seat like a Grey's Anatomy type show does. It's been a let down when they haven't broken up. LOL They honestly just aren't very strong female characters; more whiney and getting worked up about every little thing (it's exhausting!) than strong females to match the strong male characters in the show. In the forth and final season we're able to view on Prime, I didn't care for it really at all. I still go back to thinking this show, for whatever reason, just isn't finding it's comfort zone with it's formula and so keeps trying new things. Other shows veer off too, but those seem to happen naturally, while this show, to me, truly comes off like 'we tried this, how do you like this other thing instead?' hoping for a final decision but never making one. It needs to make up it's mind because it has started much stronger than it's 'ending' (for us here on Prime) so far. I can honestly say that if the forth season had been the first I wouldn't have watched this show. Still, I give it four stars because it did reel me in by season 2, and so I'm invested in the main characters (though, again, I REALLY wish they'd loose the weak love interests. I cringe every time they come on screen!).

Suits me to a tee!
I didn't expect a lot. I don't watch TV usually so I didn't even know this show existed. I decided to give it a one show test. I've been binging every free minute since. It gets better in Season 2 which I am nearing the end of. Superb casting, brilliant dialogue, plotting, and puzzle solving. High stakes every show! What appears unresolvable gets solved. Motives are questioned, moral ambiguity is raised time and again; people to love, people to hate. It's like watching two extremely talented tightrope walkers who don't use a net walk between two skyscrapers on the same wire. I'm also learning a lot about the law, and since I'm in the middle of a suit myself, well...! The title is great too implying the clothing lawyers are obliged to wear, the somewhat denigrating term for men who make godawful amounts of money (often arrogantly), and finally, the main activity these "suits" are involved in. My 21 year old son knew all about the show I found out. He has discerning taste and also loves the show! I'm as addicted to the show as Mike has been to pot, Harvey to power and both (usually) to justice for their clients.

What was I waiting for?!!!!
When I avidly watched USA, my shows were Burn Notice & Law & Order: CI, so it generally takes me some time to warm up to anything new. However, I do have an affinity for programs that deal with the law, and the law looks totally different until you have to use the law. I think that may have been the reason I did not watch Suits for the 1st 2 seasons: I just wasn't interested. BUT, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the last episode of Season 2, all because it was coming on while visiting family. I enjoyed it, and since the 1st 2 seasons are included with Amazon Prime, I watched them.....in less than 7 days. I was hooked, and while the incredible outcomes are more or less rooted in truth to make you think, "That could happen," it is entertaining enough to keep you there. The cast is very well chosen, and having witnessed first hand how attorneys truly have a science to the method of their madness, for nearly 2 years, Suits is a gentle remainder that such programs only feed the perception of the law is and what the law is not. In other words, IT IS WELL WORTH WATCHING!!!!! While I do not think it is absolutely necessary to watch the first season to enjoy the second season, it is always good to have a grasp on different references made at certain points during the show. The angle presented as to how the two main characters come together is cool, so if you haven't thought to view Suits, I think you'll absolutely enjoy it.
