It provides you with everything you need to succeed in the class and get a good grade on the AP exam
This is a really beneficial AP Biology Crash Course. It provides you with everything you need to succeed in the class and get a good grade on the AP exam. It summarizes each chapter with the most important and necessary information. It includes a multiple choice test after each chapter to prepare you for the AP exam. It also includes 2 full-length practice tests to test your knowledge. I have been using this crash course for about a week and a half now and I have to say that it is much beneficial than reading the actual AP Biology Textbook. This book will prepare you for the newly structured AP exam, so there are no worries there. Everything is clearly written, and is understandable. They usually always define the words that are new, and dont just throw them at you and expect you to know them. Definitely worth the money and it is my favorite crash course for AP Biology, and i recommend it to any one who is interested. One tip I would give to people using this crash course is always highlight major areas in the chapters, and write things you didnt know on the left and right columns. This will make it much easier to review your notes and understand the concept. Also read the book carefully!! There are many concepts that are difficult to comprehend, and wont be understood the first time you read them. Good Luck!

Great resource for AP Exam
I love this book, it basically summarizes AP exam questions. I practiced using this book and AP Bio exam test prep by Jane B Reece and these two together are just the perfect review you need before your AP. This has four exams those were recently done for you to practice. All the key ideas which you as a Bio student should be familiar with, also it give all main topics in great details which makes it easier for students to understand. I recommend this to all who wants to practice for AP bio.

Excellent Study Guide
Great book. Definitely a worthwhile buy. Lots of information but should not be used as sole source of study. You should annotate it with your own notes and find other sources for free response. It gives you exactly what you need for the AP. Not too much not too little. The AP now is not focused on memorization, so this is targeted perfectly for what you need.

They tried.
If you're looking for a book that mimics the official test and provides lessons directly applicable to the official test then you're in the wrong place. This book may provide you with some bio knowledge but it won't help you really prepare for the questions. The AP test is a series of common sense and scenario-based questions that can't really be taught in a book, which may be good or bad depending on what kind of test-taker/studier you are. MC is based on paragraphs of given information and are "predict, give explanation, and what does graph/diagram show" types of questions, and FR are all application/lab questions that are the "justify, propose, and provide" types. That being said, the FR questions in this book are NOTHING like the actual test, but they're a good review for what you studied. As for the labs at the end, Cliffnotes is much better. I got a 5 on the test and the only thing I remember applying from prep books were some graph/diagrams in Barron's and some labs from Cliffnotes (please don't waste your time and read the whole book). To get a more realistic feel of the test, it's best to just view the official AP tests, scoring guidelines, and samples from previous years, as collegeboard releases them all online. <-- this also prepares you for time-management and what types of answers collegeboard looks for/how they score your test. The lack of actual test help isn't necessarily Barron's fault, it's just that this type of AP test is difficult to understand and study for.

Great for gen bio courses in college too
NOTE: I did not buy this for the AP exam (I did take AP Bio), but as a refresher for college general biology. This book is a perfect companion to Campbell Biology, a common AP Bio and gen bio I/II textbook. It consisely review concepts that professors want students to know (and like to test on) that easily get lost in long lectures and text readings. It really helped me for both semesters of general biology and I recommend it for anyone in a similar class.

The new AP Test
Very useful for my students from Czech republic Mainly the part regarding the new way of AP Test 2015I think It would be properer to see the answers to questions right at the end of the aeach exapmle not at the end of the book It is a little bit unclear. I would prefer a form of answersheed to see all in one go in order to better check sudent's ( my own) attepmt
