Not sure what to say about this item... It does what it is supposed to do, and does so well. I use it for my plane, but there are uses on Motorcycles and Boats that could also utilize them... Creativity in your vehicle could also work!

All 3 Ram mount balls are solid (not screwed on) so there's no chance of loosening while riding! Love it!

I thought it was a little pricey for what you get but it worked for what I needed. Sometimes you got to do what you got to do.

It is what they say it is

Using this with two ram mount arms that support a small tablet in my work truck. Its mounted in a way where one arm comes straight out from the base towards the driver, and the second goes straight down to hold the tablet mount in front of the dash. The double ball connects the two. It can be a little shaky but a plastic bottle cap helps eliminate the play. The double ball does exactly what it's supposed to do, and there is zero give from the joint.

I was a bit worried this might not be sturdy enough because gooseneck style microphone stand extensions I've used before have been pretty weak. I was surprised by how much force it too to bend this, and the photo I've included shows it holding a 10 pound dumbbell which didn't cause it to bend at all. For my intended use, it might actually be inconvenient, as it will require two hands to bend and then straighten it back out. But for people that need some to hold a device it place this could be the perfect option.

Probably works great with their original clamps, but I bought this to use with RAM mounts because it says it's compatible with RAM and standard 1" applications. The ball feels like hard plastic vs the rubber coating on RAM mounts and works ok for lightweight stationary use, but wind and vibration from my motorcycle in motion will cause it to droop. As others have pointed out it never feels completely secure with RAM and moves around in the joint no matter how much it's tightened. It's slightly smaller than RAM 1" ball (25mm = .98") and the material is just too smooth, though a thin strip of double sided tape helps.
