Y201 Propane and Natural Gas Leak Detector, Portable Gas Sniffer for Leaks of Combustible Gases like Methane, LPG, LNG, Fuel, Sewer Gas, w Flexible Neck

I had builders in recently and the gas pipework was altered. I've had the odd little whiff of gas every now and then while doing some work in the cupboard, but didn't think much of it. Then I noticed I was waking up feeling dizzy. I ordered one of these, found the leak straight away, and had the builder back here to fix it within the hour. It's worth noting that the first thing he did was spray it with soapy water, and my detector could no longer find a leak after that, so make sure you test it whilst dry. It's as simple as turning it on outside and turning the sensitivity dial down to where the alarm stops. Then just move it around the suspected areas. I tested it with a lighter too, which proved it worked. If nothing else, the peace of mind this brings is worth the price tag alone. I was sceptical of the cheap yellow housing, but It helped me pinpoint a leak without relying on someone else who may have missed it. Obviously if you smell gas, you should call the gas network immediately, but this is handy to confirm your suspicions.

We’ve just had our gas meter exchanged this week and, during the exchange, they tested the supply for leaks. Anything more than a 4 millibar drop in pressure results in the engineer immediately shutting off the supply. Ours was a 3 millibar drop; not an emergency, but enough to warrant attention. We only moved in a few weeks ago and noticed a slight gas smell in the kitchen and it would make sense, if there was a leak, that that’s where it would be as our only gas appliances (boiler, hob, range) are all in that room. I followed the instructions and let this warm up outside, adjusted the sensitivity so the first led was just not appearing, took a step into the kitchen and the alarm started going off. What I was amazed at however was how easily I was able to locate and confirm a gas leak from behind the range. An engineer will be called and we’ll get this sorted. Video of this in action attached - it’s incredibly easy and simple to use. Very, very impressed!!!

It works well and has helped me to accurately locate butane leaks in my campervan. However the sensitivity is too high, meaning that it has to be turned right to the bottom setting or it goes off all the time, even in fresh air. Essentially you only get two results: either there is gas present, or there isn't. It's very difficult to tell whether a leak is big or small. Still, if you're looking to pinpoint where a leak is coming from, it will do the job nicely.

After almost two years of smelling sewer gas inside the house and landlords not taking any notice I decided to invest in this. My only regret is not purchasing it sooner! It detected a leak in the sink plug holes and one of the toilets straight away. I even tested at my parents house just to make sure it wasn’t faulty and it didn’t detect anything around the same areas (they do not have any issues with sewer gas) but when doing a test run on gas stove it worked straight away. Great product.

So easy to use. Accurate, and literally saved our life. The gas pipe was in our toilet. We noticed a smell, but thought it was from the sewer. The Plummer came out, to fit a new our cooker, and said that the gas test showed to be. within perimeters. If I couldn’t smell gas. I said that I had smelt something but was trying to cover it up. For at least 18 months. I also said that my meter seamed to be moving even though no gas was actually on.. We used this tool. And it buzzed like mad. The Plummer said to switch of the gas at the mains And dig up the toilet.this is what we found. So a big Thankyou to this little life saver. I’m just imagining what is going on in your office now. It must be a massive whoopee. But even so, it is the truth. This tool is invaluable.we were sat on a ticking time bomb, and it effected my health too being exposed to gas for such a long time. My memory, was bad and concerntration. I often felt little tremors, and sick. Which has all gone now. Thankyou once again.

This is the best thing that I have bought in a long time. I had 2 gas leaks in a Mobil home I could smell gas coming from somewhere in the van, I called the gas fitter he came and checked out the system and he could not detect any leeks. But I still could smell gas leaking, so I bought this gas detector and It found 2 leaks in seconds, one under a press at a Isolating valve, and another at the bottle outside the van. Great product I would not be without It.

The gas sniffer arrived the day after I ordered it which was a real bonus as if you suspect a gas leak and are unable to deal with it then obviously you should contact the emergency services number. My suspected leak was from a gas barbecue so I was able to disconnect and take the whole cylinder outside its storage place. I have not tested the sniffer on the gas cylinder but did so on the gas hob in the house. This worked fine, as I thought it might. There are simple, clear instructions to get it working; always a bonus. I view the purchase as an insurance policy. I now know I have a product in which I place my trust should I need it in the future. I have suspected a gas boiler leak before so would have welcomed having this earlier and is the reason I went for this. As a tip and why it got 4 stars for me is because the three AAA batteries it needed to work were not included. Overall, a good purchase and in some ways one I hope is never needed.

Und was sollen wir sagen, es gab keine Unterschiede zwischen beiden Geräten. Unser günstiges schlägt genauso schnell an und immer an der gleichen Stelle, wie das teure. Es ist fast selbsterklärend, leicht zu bedienen und scheint von guter Qualität zu sein. Zur Haltbarkeit können wir noch nichts sagen. Das wird die Zeit zeigen. Had toch ergens een klein gaslek in de meterkast. Had ooit een gasbuis afgekoppeld en een gasdop geplaatst die niet helemaal goed afsloot. Dit apparaat herkende het lek, erg blij mee!

Ahora solo esperar, me dedico al mantenimiento de un edificio continuamente hay reportes de fugas de gas LP. Veremos qué tal Reseña 2: fecha 27 de agosto 2024 desde la más mínima fuga me ayudado en detectar y también lo he comprobado con la típica prueba agua con jabón y nada, cero fuga. Antes me llevaba en spray la mezcla de jabón ahora llevo este efeciente detector.
