Fabulous ceramic honing rod
First of all if you like your honing rods to remain pretty and mark free, then the ceramic one is not for you. However if you do not care about the appearance and just want a fantastic honing rod, then I highly recommend this. Yes your knives will leave marks on the pure white ceramic but they will also leave wonderfully sharp. Very easy to use, the small capped end (which is removable if wanted) adds a surprisingly decent amount of stability when holding the rod vertically. I’m no expert in their use, in fact I’ve probably only used a rod a few times in my entire life so far. Yet with a few quick swipes both sides, following the directions and my knives have a very nice sharp edge once again. I’m sure with practice this rod will give near razor sharp results.

Easy and effective
A great piece of kitchen kit which I've already used several times to very good effect. Hones my Japanese knives particularly well and I picked-up the 'listening' tip - you listen to each side of the blade as you draw it through and they should sound the same when the knife is honed. Do you know what - it's true! Love it.

Good 3k ceramic hone
Great for honing in a nice edge, lost a star because it gets clogged up quick

Works great
Finally got around to sharpening and honing all mine and my daughter’s knives to razor sharpness on my Tormek sharpener. When they start to lose their razor sharpness, a couple of light strokes with this ceramic honing rod brings them back to full lethality.A few people commented the ceramic honing rod didn’t work for them. My guess is that the edge was beyond honing with such a fine (ceramic) grit and something a bit coarser (like a diamond or plain steel) might work better. Better advice is to get the knives professionally sharpened once a year or so, and then lightly hone them whenever they are not razor sharp.

Safe and has stopped me having to sharpen as much!
Reviewing SHARPAL 107H 10'' Ceramic Knife SharpenerSeriously worth the money! I sharpen my knife on a wet stone every 3 months as I use it a fair bit. I then realign the edge with this to get it back into shape. It is easy to use, hold it from the top and sit the lil rubber foot on the desk. Then swipe back and forth. It is safe and I never feel in danger, trust me I am very aware of danger and I would allow my kid to use this. Very happy and would not look back :)

Puts a razor edge on kitchen knives.
Absolutely brilliant at putting a really fine edge on all my kitchen knives. Prefer this ceramic rod over my diamond stones.

Really works, like really
I use Japanese steel knifes. They are a nightmare to sharpen as you need to use a stone. These keeps them sharpe a lot, lot longer. First time I used it you could see the difference. I mean it as well you could see it.
