Worth the time it takes to read
Definitely something that anyone, not just those in competitive fields (which is pretty much everything) should read. I really enjoyed the way the author wrote and also the way he incorporated real world in with how the SEALS do things. I’d highly recommend reading it. I know a lot of the things he talks about are in a lot of different books but he had a way of putting it in OBVIOUS terms. Loved the book, took very little time to read.

Needed truths in this day of celebrated victim hood
Life is tough, or so it seems. But the good things in life are beyond that which falls easily to us. I was a military transport pilot and worked with the SEALS at times. They were all, to a man, full of life, compassion, bravery, and they made no excuses for failure.No one can marginalize or oppress you except you. This book is a great starting place for learning how to be a fully alive human being, rather than a pathetic and spineless “victim,” continually blaming others for the fruit of your own actions. Great stuff.If you need to grow a spine - read and heed this.

Underwhelmed
This book offers suggestions for developing mental toughness, but is extremely light on substance. The book suggests “what” to do but does not provide any depth or detail with respect to “how” to do it. I was really excited to receive this book, but was quickly dismayed upon actually perusing the pages.

Imformative and motivational
This is a fairly quick read. If nothing else, it will give you a sense of motivation to conduct your life and daily activities with a new sense of purpose and determination. Very few people become Navy Seals but the mindset is adaptable and useful. I took a few good ideas with me when I was finished with the book. I recommend this book for anyone interested in looking for ways to improve their daily mindset and life goals.

Not much here other than a rehash of SEAL training
I don't mind slim books if they have worthwhile content but this book spends most of its double-spaced, wide margined 100 pages describing the rigors of SEAL training and how, if you make it through, then you must be mentally tough. As for ways to improve one's mental toughness, there's not much on offer. One breathing exercise is followed by a suggestion to go online and search for other breathing exercises. My suggestion -- avoid the cost of this and just go online.

Extremely Insightful and Useful Methodologies
One of the most useful books I've read in years! I'd thank the author if I could. This book explains the physical and emotional process our bodies go through in times of duress, stress, and trauma. It dives into what it takes to overcome and be a warrior, while managing the associated emotions.

This book met all expectations. My son is a wrestler and ever since he read it and began utilizing some of the techniques, we can see that he is more confident. He's been destroying everyone at tournaments. Looking forward to see what happens this year.

Mental Toughness
An enjoyable read! The first half is about the Navy Seal's BUDs training. The latter part of the book goes onto 7 principles of mental toughness, with a great section about success at the end.The principles are straightforward, accessible and can be put into practice. Very quick read, but non the less informative if new to the topic of mental toughness like me!

I really enjoyed this book as it gave me insight to the Navy Seals & also understanding how to gain mental toughness in life!

Good starting point for developing a tougher mind
Very short, easy to read. Really enjoyed it. I wish the book was longer, more in depth and provide actual exercises/test to really start challenging yourself. However I believe the concepts highlighted in this book are essential to learn and remember.

Not what I was hoping for
If you are interested in the process of becoming a Navy Seal, this book should be a good primer. If you, like me, are looking for a book to help you regain mental health, stability and emotional control, then I don't think this is a good fit
