Nice tool
The tool needs to be attached to a stable base, and is already drilled for attachment to a base. Diamond stones provided are coarse and fine. For resetting angles, the optional super-coarse stone is needed. After using the coarse then the fine stone, further honing is required, and there is an optional super-fine stone available. This tool does a fine job of setting the angles and squaring the cutting edge for straight tools (chisels, plane irons, spokeshaves, etc.). It is not intended for sharpening knives, scissors, turning tools, gouges, etc.If you are serious about keeping tools sharp, it would be wise to get the two optional stones (super-coarse and super-fine).I would recommend this tool. It is a very easy-to-use jig and works well.

Not Powered
The M-Power is a solid, well manufactured tool, but it is not powered and it is not going to replace water stones for me. In my hands it is slower and even if you buy the extra cost finer stones it can’t produce a beautiful mirror-sharp chisel or plane iron. The directions clearly say to keep the tool clean and oiled, and it is really true. The action literally grinds to a halt without constant cleaning and oiling. I was forced to stop to re-oil more than once to finish a single chisel. And my hands were a black mess (wear gloves).A final problem is that the instructions remind you to be sure the backs of your tools are flat -but the device really doesn’t offer a good way to flatten them. The directions don’t say so, but you can flatten with the included diamond stones. Unfortunately, they are small and therefore tricky to use for this important step. All in all, by the time your purchase the extra stones and their bag to keep it all in, you are pushing $100 for a tool that doesn’t do a great job.Water stones and a chisel guide can be messy too, but at least they produce beautiful results.

Looks impressive - mediocre results
The substantial and precisely machined anodized aluminum base looks impressive. The problem comes when you try to hold your chisel or other item to be sharpened in place with one hand while moving the top piece with the diamond sharpening device magnetically held in the top moving piece. There is nothing but your fingers to hold the chisel / blade in place on the backside while you move the top piece back and forth. It's also tricky to install the top piece onto / into the base. The overall size only allows short strokes back and forth to sharpen your chisel / blade. This system only allows for two specific angles to sharpen your chisel. If you've previously sharpened your chisel / blade at a slightly different angle, trying to bring your item back to comply with either of the angles available takes forever. This is a very time consuming process, especially if you have to start with a coarse stone and work your way up through medium, then fine - even if you had the proper angle to begin with. Also, constant lubrication is required between the two moving parts that are separated by what appears to be a teflon like substance. With very little use this teflon surface is already scratched despite constant wiping away of dirty oil and fresh lubrication. Other devices available for less than $20 will do a much better job at significally less cost and frustration. Nice looking but expensive paper weight.

Don't waste your time
I was really hoping for more from this little unit. When it arrived the diamond plates had come loose from their plastic cradle. I ended up having to superglue them back in place. The surface of each plate is very small yet most of the diamond area doesn't see any use. The grip is cut from extruded aluminum and is not at all comfortable to hold and use. Holding the chisel or blade in place is tough. When you are moving the plate it is very easy for your work piece to move. The action is kinda sloppy too. It's almost impossible to get a consistent stroke because if you push too hard into the diamond it drags and if you don't push hard enough it misses. If you do end up making cuts the track that the grip moves along gets gravely very quickly and needs constant attention. I wasted soooooo much time with this thing but I didn't send it back because I wanted to give myself an opportunity to dial it in. No such luck. All in all it's awkward to use and I would not recommend this to anyone. M Power, you should be ashamed of yourself.J

Nice for quick touch ups...
I don't use my Chiseles all that often, but a few minutes to use the M-Power, and they seem to work much better. As others have said, not for fixing dings and chips, but for a quick edge, not bad.

Just take the time - is so fast to sharpen all your chisels
Works so quickly and accurately - get all the stones

Looks can be deceiving !
Looks a good tool but hard to use, the corner of a chisel catches when trying to sharpen, it is almost imposible to sharpen small chisels - and the wear is in the same place on the diamond stone ?
