I spilled an entire cup of coffee on my bed, on this cover. Not ONE BIT of it leaked through to the mattress and it washed out in hot water perfectly! I wish I would've taken a picture. Absolutely no lingering coffee smell either! It is waterproof yet comfortable enough to use it right underneath a sheet; it's a soft material that's not plastic-y at all.Mine is twin size, and is a little tricky to get on the first time, plus I'm doing it by myself. An extra person would help a lot. It has to be put on like a pillowcase. There's an opening at one end that continues about one-third of the way down on both sides of mattress, so I stand the mattress on end and slip it over the top. But if you've got a full size or larger bed you probably won't want to do that...it would be hard to handle. But that doesn't keep me from giving this 5 stars because it's doable for practically anyone and will get easier to put on each time. I mainly got these for allergy/asthma reasons. I have extra beds too so when family comes to visit, their beds will be clean and ready to use, no changing this just because it's been on there a while and needs washed! I use a sticky roller on mine to remove any dust buildup for one that's not been used for a while. I have the pillowcases/protectors in this brand too. They are just as nice, and they zip up on the end.I highly recommend these. The value + quality can't be beat!

I recently bought a set of barely used beds, but was hesitant to let my grandchildren sleep on them. This mattress protector is amazing because it’s zips and encloses the ENTIRE mattress. I did clean the beds with Lysol before putting them on, but the kids love them, they are very soft material, not plastic like the other brands. They loved them so much we purchased another for our oldest grandson. Definitely a quality product and a good deal!

Washed on waterproof cycle and dried on delicate cycle with no troubles. It took less than 10 minutes for one person (me!) to get this on my Queen sized Casper mattress. Fit perfectly, with a little wiggle room. Leads me to believe it would be perfectly snug on a pillow-top mattress, or with a topper. The fabric feels nice - if you needed to sleep on it. Overall, it seems like a quality item and good buy.

The mattress protector exceeded my expectations in terms of material, easy to put on mattresss and washed nicely! It hasn’t been tested as to how well it protects mattress from water, time will tell.

We apparently had a bed bug infestation (never saw the bugs, only the bites) so it was time for a mattress encasement. It turned out to be easy to put on the mattress and it is not crinkly like so many water proof covers. It's soft and quiet. Perfect.

Fits very well, though will hold air because of the waterproof layer. I place a few heavy books on top after changing the crib sheet, so it doesn't puff up when the baby lays in the crib. After getting the extra air out it works very well and my baby has never been bitten by bugs.

This was easy to put on. You get two in package which was great. I purchased the XL Twin and it fit perfect. Nice to have your mattress protected from dust and allergens etc. very pleased with Utopia Mattress Encasements.
