The Lord of the Rings, Instrumental Solos Alto Sax (Pop Instrumental Solo Series)

I purchased this instrumental book primarily for one piece - Concerning Hobbits. I was pleased with the transcriptions in the book, Howard Shore is an excellent composer and the pieces included show off his considerable talents. I have only used the CD which came with the book a few times. While it is enjoyable to play with the "whole orchestra" it is usually more work then I want to put in while I am practicing. I am very happy with the contents of the book. I dinged one star from the product because of the lousy shipping. The book came in a container which bent the book and caused it to have many creases.

My son who is a beginning trombone student received this as a gift for Christmas. When he first looked it it he said, "I'll never be able to play it." I'm happy to say, he's able to play through 90% of this book after 7 months! He loves playing with the back tracks and it definitely was a tool to inspire. The CD comes with two tracks per song. One has the trombone playing the melody with the backing orchestra, while the other does not.I would definitely buy more books in this series.

this book seems good but it's for very beginner musicians which is on me for not reading the description fully but just try to make sure it's the right level for you before you purchase

I've used this play a long with several students. They enjoy it, and it's not too difficult. The style of this soundtrack is very well suited to the training of young brass players.

This book is too difficult for my daughter, but it is well written and the accompanying CD is going to be perfect for when she does get a chance to play it. Who doesn't love Lord of the Rings and this gives her incentive to keep trying!

This item is pretty old, so the recording quality for the samples might be a little chippy. But the music is great, and it gradually progresses in skill level until the end. Really helps start off a young musician's career.

i like the lord of the rings and enjoy playing along. However i don't like that i can't advance to the play alone selection for each piece.When i asked the CD player to forward it went to the next piece. Took the enjoyment away as it isn't necessary after the first playing to hear the other sax player.perhaps i can play around with my equipment.

Our son loves this movie, and even more, loves the music. He's greatly enjoying this gift.

This book was not to bad to learn the songs , it's great if you are into more theatre type tunes

Métod muy motivador para los estudiantes que cursan estudios de instrumento en Enseñanzas Elementales, sobre todo para niveles a partir de tercer curso. Tiene solos más difíciles pero hay otros que se pueden tocar muy bien tan solo cambiando a la octava grave.Creo que es un método muy bueno para motivar al alumnado y a las familias.Sin duda lo recomiendo, mis alumnos están encantados tocando estas obras.

Der Schwierigkeitsgrad ist nicht hoch, deshalb man kann es fast a prima vista spielen. Die Orchesterbegleitung im Playback ist professionell und man fühlt sich „gut geborgen“ als Solist. Du musst eine gute Stereo-Anlage haben, sonst würde es zu „billig“ klingen (kann ich mir vorstellen).Bei allen Crescendi hast du ein Gefühl, dass du „abhebst“. Gott ist das schön!

los arreglos están bien hechos para los niños, tonalidades fáciles, registro cómodo, merece la pena.

Es ist schon toll die Epische Musik selber spielen zu können. die Begleitmusik ist auch gut. Auch finde ich es schön, dass es einen Track für jedes stück gibt wie sich die Melodie anhören soll. Es macht spaß zu spielen und regt zum üben an.
