Works well if you know how to use it
I wanted to try different textures on my minis bases and thought I'd try some crackle paint. Using the paint straight onto the base will produce a result in some very small and thin cracks, but honestly it won't be anything that you want.I've been messing around with different techniques with this paint and found the following produces the best results:1) paint the base with a colour you want to appear between the cracks (e.g. a reddy brown).2) once dry, paste on a layer of PVA glue to smooth the surface.3) once dry, apply a thick layer of the paint to the base. Thicker the better, especially on the edges.4) go make a cup of tea and return in about 30 mins. You should have some decent cracks. You can then dry brush some colour onto it.Don't bother mixing the crackle paint with other paints as it doesn't work.Do practice on bases and then sand down the ones that don't come out well.-Praise the Emperor whose sacrifice is life as ours is death!

Work well when it works...
Extremely temperamental... Will work one day, and not the next. Unless you get the base juuuuuust right, you just have a creamy yellow paint.

waste of time
like others have mentioned this stuff is very temperamental, thin layers sometimes works but often it will either not crack at all or over crack and flake off.I bought this as a more cost effective version of GW’s technical crack paints but expensive lesson learned.
