Sulfur Acne Treatment Soap with Lanolin 4.40 Oz Bar

Originally purchased for acne issues, this product has proven incredibly useful! Sulfur has been known for a long time to be antimicrobial. Because of its elemental nature, bacteria seldom, if ever, build resistance to it. Also, sulfur is naturally occurring and less likely to cause harm to your skin and body. This makes sulfur a safer alternative to the many triclosine-saturated soaps that clutter the market. Neatly packaged in individual boxes, the soap, upon opening, has no unpleasant odor. After use, you will smell the sulfur on your washcloth; however, the soap's smell will not cling to your person. This soap leaves you feeling "squeaky-clean" and feeling dry. Due to the high percentage of sulfur, specifically 10%, this soap will dry your skin out quickly. Therefore, use during the winter should be sparingly; whereas, during the summer you can apply it more often. To keep your sulfur bar in shape, keep it elevated and out of direct contact with water. Also, store it on a pad or clean sponge to absorb excess moisture. Following these two recommendations will ensure your bar lasts longer. Although advertised for acne, there are many uses for this soap outside of facial care. It is an ideal body soap if you frequent public gyms, hospitals, or locker rooms. Its anti-microbial properties kill and slow down bacterial growth. The soap makes an excellent aftershave to prevent pore infections too. Simply lather onto your face and let it set for about five seconds before washing off. This leaves a pleasant "tight" feeling on your face after a good shave. If this shining review is not enough, I have one anecdotal story to prove its effectiveness. During my biology class, the professor had us each rub our hands on petri-dishes to create a culture. After slathering our hands on our respective dishes, he collected them and allowed them to mature. Exactly two weeks later, 80% of my classmates had terrible looking bacteria and fungi growing all over their plates. Unsurprisingly, it took three weeks for my plate to grow one tiny clump of bacteria. Granted, this is anecdotal; however, it serves to illustrate the power of super sulfur soap.

update 10/5/2014 This is my skin regimen now: daily: - take off makeup with boscia makeup breakup oil, it washes off with water - wash face with philosophy purity cleansing soap - wash face gently with sulfur soap (I think my face likes to be very clean, but gently) ->>weekly: wash face with olay pro-x brush + exfoliating creme (right now I'm using korres rose scrub) ->>weekly: aztec indian clay mask, 1 tbsp clay + 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar is enough for me - wipe face gently with cotton ball and well soaked thayer's witch hazel rose toner - put on moisturizer: Dior hydra life creme sorbet - do a spot treatment with sulfur ointment (FYI ,sulfur ointment works GREAT for ingrown hairs in your bikini area) This has helped my face clear up greatly, plus no more peeling skin. hope this helps old review: I first tried using a Bye Bye Blemish type of ointment a long time ago. I was always amazed how well it worked for my acne, but it's only a spot treatment. I bought the sulfur soap w/ lanolin as well. My regimen was like this: 1. I bought an olay pro-x cleaning brush, so I used the sulfur soap and the cleaning brush on my face and let it sit for 10min. Then I rinse off and put the sulfur ointment on my face and sleep with it all night. At about 2 days, my face was amazingly clearer and softer, but my face did start to peel, it turned into a peeling sunburn-like texture on certain areas of my face. So I started doing a coconut oil + sulfur ointment treatment at night and that helped a lot. My face isn't 100% clear yet, but I'm hoping it will get there. The coconut oil slowed things down a lot, even though it healed my face, so I might go back to just sulfur ointment and use coconut oil as a spot treatment. I also use the aztec clay mask, and I like it a lot.

This was purchased for my teenage daughter to help treat mild acne. She was prescribed a sulfur face wash by a dermatologist in the past which was helpful but was very expensive to fill each month. We noticed immediately that this Grisi Sulfur soap was just as was effective as the much more expensive prescription soap that she had been prescribed. After only a few days of use her mild acne was almost nonexistent. Suffering from both blackheads and cystic acne, a treatment for both is quite difficult to find but this soap is effective on both which is a huge plus. I would have given 5 stars but did not because after the first months use the soaps effectiveness greatly declined to the point that it was no longer effective. Almost as if her face had become used it. there weren't any diet changes, weather changes or environmental factors that we feel would have contributed to the clearing of her skin that month so I do believe it was the sulfur soap. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this again as a short term fix but with no expectations of a lasting treatment.

For decades I've known from my professional dermatologist specialists that SULFUR is the best way to treat acne and rosacea. It's the unknown secret. I never use benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid as both of those just burn my skin, causing peeling and greater blemishes, and also destroying expensive towels by bleaching. This Grisi sulfur soap is a really fantastic product and does not smell anything as bad as some of the comments here would have you believe, so in my opinion you can safely disregard the scent concerns. When I opened the September 2013 mail delivery the scent was strong but not unpleasant, and quickly dissipated over a few hours settling into just a really nice clean fresh, sort of antiseptic, non-perfume scent. It gives a pleasant 'clean bathroom' aroma when I walk in, and not in a disinfectant sort of way, almost a lemon type of scent. After 48 hours I have to pick up the bar and wet it to detect any scent, so the whole smell issue is a NON-issue. Perfumed products cause severe outbreaks and I don't have to worry about that at all with this sulfur soap. The 10% sulfur content of this soap is important to treat skin problems. I have rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, and severe skin allergies. Weaker % doesn't work for me, so this soap has the correct strength to do the job. It has replaced my $200.00+ prescription daily sulfur product, and that makes me very happy! Add up the savings over a year and this is really important. Add up the savings over decades and there is no question. Using this soap results in no more outbreaks, and results are almost immediate, certainly overnight. Existing blemishes can take a week or two to heal, so don't give up. I use it 2-3 times a day. The instructions on the box say to lather up and leave on 10 minutes, but my prescription product always said just 20 seconds (to prevent burning the skin and later having peeling skin), so that is what I do with the Grisi soap. About 20-30 seconds and then rinse off. With just a few drops of water it makes a super creamy rich lather, yet rinses off completely in just seconds with just one or two splashes of water, not like regular hand soap that takes about 20 rinses to get it all off. The Grisi leaves no residue whatsoever, and gives an immediate beautifully clean feeling. I put on moisturizer right after. If you get peeling skin then you can just reduce the time you leave the lather on, and likewise experiment with how long you can tolerate leaving it on if you want more dramatic results. I don't recommend buying too many at once until you know how much you use because the sulfur has an expiry date or best used by date, after which it may loose some of it's effectiveness. The Grisi soap I received is marked as being fully effective for another 1 year and 9 months. So figure how many bars you may use in such a time period. Also, I have researched elsewhere that sulfur soaps effectively treat and repel both insects and bacteria that may want to live on a person's body. Don't be afraid to try this product. Skin outbreaks can be very humiliating, so by finding this treatment that actually works, works fast, AND is economical you'll be wishing you discovered it years ago! This is my got to soap for washing my face and using it on a pimple and leaving it on overnight. In the summer if you get a rash this also works well for drying out a rash.

I gave this review in particualr a 3 because this company (The Latin Products) sucks. They dont respond to messages and take FOREVER to ship out your order. I ordered on January 28th and it was expected to be delivered between January 3rd and January 8th. I didnt recieve my soap until January 9th because they shipped it out on the 7th The soap on the other hand works! I would rate the soap a 4 out of 5 because it has a strong perfume scent but other than that i definitely like it. It cleared up my acne in less than 2 weeks and i've tried A LOT of products. The acne on my forehead is 95% gone aswell as the acne on my cheeks. The best part about it is that its cheap and actually works. I definitely recomend this product.

Great for loosening up blackheads making them easier to clear out with extraction tool

Great, easy to use, last long o you definitely get your value of money worth. Size of a regular bar of soap, not irritating to the skin. I started struggling with lots of pimples along my jawline and chin for the first time in my life at age 36 and nothing was working. I was assuming hormonal acne and I did some research and tried it out. I absolutely love this product and will continue to use it.
