Bird Box Protectors British Made (Great Tit)

I bought 12 of these in different sizes for all the boxes in my garden. At half the price of others for sale it made sense and when they arrived I'm glad to say I made the right decision.Firstly, they look exactly as they do in the photo except for pre-drilled holes in each corner for the provided screws.Two extra screws were included in my delivery (I guess, in case I lost any- thanks). The screws are long enough to securely hold the plates in place and if they were much longer they could protrude into the inside of the average, off the shelf nestboxes which tend to be made from only 1cm thick panels.The quality seems high and thick enough to stop a woodpecker or any other raider.I've only had the boxes out for a few weeks so can't say how rust proof they are yet.One side of each protector is a matt steel surface and the other side has an adhesive plastic film that you can leave in place on the 'box' side when you install. If you peel it off, it reveals a slightly more polished stainless steel surface. I suspect this is because the steel it's cut from is the stuff used for the likes of kitchen surfaces so hopefully it's of a high grade.If you have the 'polished' side facing out I don't think it's enough to put any birds off.Finally about the cut. Seems as though these are laser cut rather than machine cut and therefore don't really need filing. If you do file off edges, stainless steel is more likely to rust at those edges. When you run your thumb over the edges there is what seems to be an edge created by the laser cutting process but I don't beleive it's sharp enough to cause a problem for the birds so I left them.In summary a well made, accurately cut and easily installed nestbox hole protector. Made in Britain too!

Just received 4 of these nest box entrance protectors ( also 4 of the smaller hole version) Quality is excellent made from heavy metal and come with fixing screws ( holes for screws are pre drilled also) The finish is very good with no sharp edges around the hole where the birds will enter through, so no further finishing work is required. Good quality product and I would recommend and will also buy again when I need more.

I put these straight in the bin. Sharp edges on them prevented me from using these, how could you? When they're supposed to be used for little birds.

Bought 4 of these to protect some old birds boxes and I'm very happy with them. They seem tough and arrived with pre-drilled holes and screws to attach them to the boxes.

Until I found these my old bird nesting boxes were being chewed away around the hole, problem solved.

Good price but the edges are very rough and I cut myself fitting it, You get what you pay for as they say, would be prepared to sand the edges if you buy this

These little metal squares help prevent bird boxes being raided by Woodpeckers in my garden. I'd love it if they also made longer ones to cover the whole front if the box. Thanks
