Reef Builder, 1.2 kg / 2.6 lbs

I've been trying to use Red Sea's alk booster which is really expensive for what you get. The reef builder is much cheaper and does a great job. It's a minor annoyance that I have to use RO water everyday when supplementing but I'm enjoying the results.

Excellent price. Much more economical than liquid forms. Easy to use. I manually dose each day in my 150g, 30g nano, and 10g pico mixed coral tanks. I also use Reef Calcium in conjunction with Builder to maintain proper levels.

I have had a reef tank for about three years now and the SeaChem products is all I ever dose with. They dissolve easy and are a great price. They are also made right in Georgia so it is a Made in USA product which is great.

This product works great. The user guidelines on the bottle are a little bit challenging to follow as they tend to mix units and overly dumb it down in the beginners section. If I had to make one wish for improvement, it would be for the powder to go into solution more completely. Definitely not a major deal though and my alkalinity is right where I want it consistently.

There are bits that do not dissolve immediately when mixing into RO water, so if you mix a batch to immediately add to the tank, then you get white bits flying about the tank. It's best to mix well in advance.

Dont get it for use in a doser. It mixes poorly. I use it for manual top ups of alkalinity. Also figuring out dosage is a hassle with the instructions, go and find the reef chemistry calculator to make life easier.

Seachem Reef Builder is the only make i trust, use it all the time
