I own ten sharpeners this is the best .
The best makeup pencil sharpener. It really works well on the plastic type pencils but also the wood ones. Never breaks up the tip of the pencil.

Sharpens eyeliner pencil well
The Shany cosmetic pencil did a great job at sharpening my eyeliner pencil. I like that it has two different sized holes. The only con I found so far with this pencil is that you do have to dump out the pencil remains often as there isn’t a lot of room for storing shavings. Not a huge deal though as this is probably a good thing so I don’t get lazy and then the shavings go all over if it accidentally opened. The biggest issue I have is the price mark is very high for a cosmetic sharpener. At the time of this review this sharpener is almost $10. It works well, but I think it’s overpriced.

Used
This sharpener came used. There were pencil shavings and lipstick marks on it and in the bag. The bag was resealed with clear packing tape. Gross.

Works great.
Does the new style pencils with the plastic “wooden” part and the real wood ones, too.

Very Average.
My first couple tries I was very pleased with this little sharpener. FOr testing purposes I used it on eyebrow pencils... the first two worked nice, then the usual wood splitting, broken end of the crayon thing that we all know about happened! Because it is black plastic it was hard to see the black piece of eyebrow pencil stuck in the blade, and when I did see it, it was not easy to clear. I took a regular #2 pencil, because of the harder lead, and sharpened it just to get the crayon out. Then I tried the biggerside and sharpened a very soft skin color concealer pencil, and it broke a couple times... When I had the point back about the wood I just stopped, before it could break again. The other thing I did not care about was the residue chamber... the box part where the shavings and point stuff goes. THere is very little space in there to store any shavings, so you really have to empty it before you are done sharpening, or else things can get clogged up in there... makes sense to just open that compartment up and shave over the trash can. However, it is nice to have a new sharpener, before the blades go dull, even if that doesn't last real long!

Great Basic
I always have a few wooden pencils in my make-up bag. Thin lip and eye liners, plus the thick Jones Road Face Pencil (cover stick). This little contraption is the perfect one-stop-shop to sharpen all my pencils. Plus it catches the shavings so you can sharpen anywhere without having to worry about leaving behind a mess. It's well designed, sleek and attractive. What's not to love?

Sharpens Two Sizes of Makeup Pencils
I have a bunch of giveaway makeup sharpeners - most of which are conventional pencil size - none of which do a good job, because it turns out those sharpeners sometimes need sharpening themselves. So every time I try to use one, I end up breaking my expensive makeup pencils instead of sharpening them. Or I end up with a crooked point and a jagged sharp wood edge on a pencil I can no longer bring anywhere near my eye. Half the time, I end up sharpening my pencils by hand like I live in the 1900s.This sharpener, though, is fresh, new, and TIDY. It has a sharpener for fat and a sharpener for standard size pencils, hooray! The resulting shavings stay inside the sharpener (almost as if you're using one of those old school sharpeners) until you empty it (or it explodes), so you don't have to try to work awkwardly above a wastepaper basket. And, provided you turn with even pressure, it gives you a clean, even point.Since I often end up trashing pencils after wrestling with that pesky jagged point, this sharpener is saving me money as well as frustration. Really pleased with it.

Works Well
Good for the price. It's functional and works well. Has two holes- one for larger wider eyeliners and one for smaller- regular sized eyeliner. Top pops off- it's easy to use and easy to clean. It's made of a plastic material and has the shany logo on the front. It serves the purpose, does the job and I like that it has two holes. Another good Shany product.
