and seems to be holding up fine.
This is for a 3 inch pipe. Will not fit a 4 inch!I have a 4 inch so had to buy 5 more hose clamps to make it work.I cannot tell much of a difference, but it has to be working. It makes a barrier between the exhaust and the trans.I monitor the transmission temps, and the exhaust is very close to parts of the trans. It has been thousands of miles and the shield is still where I put it, and seems to be holding up fine.

Good
I used this to protect my OX locker cable from exhaust heat. The material wore through pretty easy, but the cable is safe. The hose clamps seized up pretty quick and made adjustments difficult. I recommend luring the clamps before installation. I sprayed mine with lubricant and they work better now.

I would give it 6 start if it were possible
Easy to follow instructions. All the pieces necessary to install. Very easy to install. Screwdriver or nut driver. Great product. Would buy it again and would suggest it to my friends.

Works fantastically!
[I used this on the exhaust of my 2009 Honda Shadow Spirit 750.]I needed a simple solution to protect my oversized (Kuryakyn-GranThrow-Over Saddlebags) from having the bottom of the bag melted through.I decided it would either be this product or one of the "exhaust wraps", but this seemed much simpler to install and remove in the future. I worried that the worm-drive clamps included would be too small, but with a little finesse they will fit a 3.5in. diameter exhaust (the largest diameter mine expands up to at the end.)I used an IR thermometer to measure the temperature on the surface of the exhaust after a 30 minute ride and it was roughly 200F. After installing this product later and re-testing: the temperature on the reflected side is roughly 230-240F, and the topside is 120-140F. While you wouldn't want to keep your hand on top, it certain won't sear you like the exhaust, and your bag (or leg) will just be a little uncomfortably warm at most.I would also like to add this: it may not look that pretty, but frankly neither does the exhaust wrap products. Also, this will be much more easily removed and less risk of overheating your exhaust and shortening it's life.

To difficult to install on vehicle.
I cut my hands to shreds just trying to install one of these. And on the pipe with the least obstructions near it. And I only manage to get one clamp together.. The next clamps would have been even more difficult to thread up. Not to mention trying to adjust and position the wrap after. The only way I could imagine getting these or any other of these types of products on headers is to install to headers before the headers are attached to the engine.

Controling a rotary's exhaust heat
Bought this to direct heat away from my floor boards and transmission. You must check to make sure you have clearance of at least a 1/2" around your pipe and you have ordered the correct length because you shouldn't cut it to fit as I think it would fray. I used 2 bent coat hangers with small bent hooks to pull the shield around 3" exhaust pipe. Clamps then slide around into the clips with no problem. This worked like a charm. No more hot feet. The engine is a 13B rotary and it gets extremely hot. I highly recommend this product

Arrived fast and is as described, comes with hardware
Thermo-Tec 2'x6" wrap material is thick enough to block heat and seems like it will be durable in the long term. I used it to wrap a turbo down pipe larger in size and didn't feel comfortable with the down pipe so close to the fire wall. The wrap was flexible enough to form to the bends of the pipe and very little heat is felt through the firewall or truck floor. I would recommend for similar situations.

It worked at first...
Worked great until it got wet. Afterwords protection from heat declined rapidly.
