...it doesn't come with new bolts, and the original starter bolts are way too long. Also, the front bracket has a puny # 10 thread (vs. 1/4 inch on the original).Haven't tried it yet--still trying to find the right length bolts--but it 'appears' to be much smaller in the 'motor' area than the original starter. That's fine with me IF it has enough power; it's certainly much easier to install.Update: The front starter brace can NOT be installed--the new starter is so much shorter it's not even close. That said, few auto installations on S B Chevies use a brace....The engine cranks over much faster than the old starter, so I'm happy with it--for now.Jeff

Bought it for an Indmar 325 Assault engine in a 2008 Moomba Mobius LSV. Fit perfectly and started the engine with no problem. Changed it out in less than 30 minutes.

I placed the new starter next to the original one and they looked exactly alike and made of the same material as oem factory part I actually think it cranks the motor over faster than the original very happy.

Perfect fit, original bolts work great, installed in 97 alpha gen two v6, you will need to be a bit of a contortionist to get the bolts in, take pictures of the wiring before you remove the old one

Starter fit well in my mercruiser 3.0 in my Bayliner. Started up right away first turn.

I have a mercruiser 350 V8, I purchased this starter and proceeded with hours of labor to remove the exhaust risers & manifold to install new starter. after getting everything back together, we took the boat out a few weeks later and turned the key to start...… nothing. you can hear the starter but the rod isn't moving far enough to engage the flywheel and turn it over. The starter did work when we first installed and tested but then 3 weeks later, nothing. If anyone has replaced the starter on these engines and knows the labor and work involved, DO NOT be tempted by this garbage product. You will end up buying the OEM starter and having twice the labor cost.
