Mina Harrisa
A new condiment for me but one that I have used in ways that may have never been intended. I enjoy Indian Curries and I added some Mina Harissa to it and the results were exciting and delicious. Since then I have kept a jar on hand to try with almost anything other than oatmeal. Below is a brief history and suggestions I've found online. Mina Harissa is a type of North African hot chili pepper paste that originates from Morocco. Harissa itself is a versatile and flavorful condiment widely used in North African and Middle Eastern cuisines.Origin and IngredientsHarissa is traditionally made from roasted red peppers, hot chili peppers, garlic, olive oil, and a variety of spices such as coriander seeds, caraway seeds, and cumin. Mina Harissa, in particular, is known for its rich, authentic flavor and high-quality ingredients. It can range in heat levels from mild to very hot.Uses in CookingMina Harissa can be used in numerous ways to enhance the flavor of various dishes:Marinades: Mix Mina Harissa with olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic to create a marinade for chicken, lamb, or fish.Sauces: Add a spoonful to soups, stews, or tagines for a spicy kick.Condiment: Use it as a condiment on sandwiches, burgers, or kebabs.Dips: Blend it with yogurt or mayonnaise to make a spicy dip for vegetables or pita bread.Seasoning: Stir it into couscous, rice, or roasted vegetables for added depth and heat.Health BenefitsHarissa is not only flavorful but also offers some health benefits due to its ingredients. Chili peppers are rich in vitamins A and C and have capsaicin, which is known for its anti-inflammatory and metabolism-boosting properties. Garlic and olive oil also contribute to the heart-healthy and anti-inflammatory qualities of the paste.Mina Harissa is celebrated for its authentic taste and quality, making it a great addition to any kitchen for those who enjoy bold and spicy flavors.

Just the heat I wanted.
Everybody has a strong position on how much heat is acceptable or too much. This sauce's spice level hit the sweet spot for me. So far I've just used it to spice up the Mina sardines I ordered and got a great lunch. I'm looking forward to trying it out on pasta.

SPICY Means Hot Enough!
Morrocan cuisine is subtle and flavorful. It has a WAY with everything from meats to fish to vegetables. Harissa sauce is a traditional condiment. It comes in a variety of heats. I find the 'mild' to be a decent way to add sweet red pepper flavor to something. It will strike many cooks as being 'insipid.' This SPICY product really is SPICY to my taste. A little makes a fine addition to a tomato sauce or to making barbecue sauce at home. ALL of the flavor is red pepper and heat. There is no 'sweet' in the product. There is little or no salt. The texture of the product is homogenized and uniformly a bit thicker than the usual tomato puree. MINA is a top-level purveyor of Morrocan products. TAKE THIS ONE and ADD SUGAR or blend with other spices to create complexity. This is RED PEPPER...end of story@

Tasty Spice, not Hot
The item arrived well packaged and on time. I used it in a recipe titled, “Spicy Eggplant Dip” from Southern Living magazine. The dish was tasty, but the Harissa was not hot. We just added an appropriate amount of hot sauce for our tastes. I’ll make the dish again with a little more harissa and add hot sauce!
