A lovely piece to bring into your lives if you love Brigid, Celtic mythology/spirituality, or even just cool statues. As it states in the description, it is made of resin, polished and painted by hand. My statue is a slightly darker shade of brown than the photo used, but I am very happy with the color; it is warm and earthy, just like Brigid. It is heavier and taller than I expected, giving it a very solid feel. The craftsmanship is applaudable. Unless you have a large table, it may be too large to place on a small ritual table: instead, I recommend placing it on a hearth or a bookshelf, or even on an alter you may have specifically set aside for this goddess.The detail on the statue is wonderful; specifically, the incorporation of Brigid's symbolism is well-done, and serves as a wonderful reminder of the many facets of Brigid's character as both Saint and Celtic pagan goddess. All livestock - particularly cattle and sheep - are sacred to Brigid; as a human saint, Brigid was raised in the tending of animals by her mother, and she was known to heal the sick or fallen livestock that was so precious to the Irish's livelihood, and increase their productivity (especially where milk was concerned) threefold. She is also known as a sacred midwife, who protects the ewes pregnant with their future offspring, as well as women who are expecting. Having the lambs by her side is representative of this. As the patron goddess of smithing and the arts (especially poetry), the anvil with her cross at her back is most appropriate, as is the cross at her feet. Brigid is also known as the goddess of fire, and the sun at her back and the flames that cling to the edge of her cloak remind us of the warmth that she brings into our lives.I only have one small bit of warning: the kindling she is holding in her hand is very delicate (since it is small, thin, and less sturdy than the rest of the statue) and prone to break off. I was removing the statue from the foam packaging and accidentally snapped that portion of the statue. It didn't take much force from my fingers for the break to occur. Fortunately, some super glue has fixed the issue, so I will simply be more careful in the future when handling. Just a small piece of advice I thought I should share!

This is actually my second one. My son's family loved my first one so much they "adopted" her. So I got another for my own house. Her color is much richer and earthier than the picture shows.

I absolutely LOVE this figurine. It is well-made, the details are amazing, and the product came well-packaged and had no damages whatsoever. I am VERY pleased with this purchase!

Beautiful~ I can't wait to give this to my friend for her birthday. The back has gorgeous detail and it was shipped efficiently. And a better deal than most stores I've seen it at charge for.

Saw this in a store and checked online. I know some folks had issues with some of the delicate pieces arriving broken. This is very delicate and I think they did a good job of packing to prevent breakage. However, you need to be very careful removing this packaging because it could still break. I did have to repair a lamb leg.
