Q: What is the space between the holes? I don't know the brand of my current chair. I need to see if the holes will line up.

5 1/4" x 5 1/4" and also 5 1/4" x 6". Don swivel chair parts

Q: Can the #402p swivel & tilt mechanism be used as-is as a replacement part on our 1970s plycraft (eames-type) chair?

It fit the old base but you may have to drill holes to mount it to the bottom of the chair. Worked out well for me!

Q: do you have different length whole dimensions

I don't understand the question. This was a perfect fit to replace the original tilt/swivel assembly on my Eames chair clone.

I didn't have to do any adjustment. I unscrewed the 4 screws, took off the old, lined up the new & screwed it in. Works great. Hope that helps!
