Initially, I purchased one Nexcon Apple Lightning USB cable, but quickly discovered the strength and durability, in addition to my need for more cables! Not only does the Nexcon supersede Apple in durability of this cable, it is much more attractive in the orange and black stripe. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Apple products, but seriously, anyone who owns more than one Apple product can agree that the cables need some major improvements. Nearly all my cables have frayed just at the end, either near the USB or Lightning, making charging my device a tricky process. Sometimes I have thought my phone or iPad was charging, but because of the frayed end with exposed wires, I found my phone with less battery than when I placed it on the charge. If you have found yourself in this same situation, frustrated with Apple's crappy cables, then, look no further for an excellent replacement. This is the best cable for the price. I have used the Amazon brand of cable, which is a great cheaper alternative, but since trying Nexcon, I really can't justify going a step down.

(Edit) Nekteck reached out to offer a replacement. They have a 12 month warranty, so they sent me a renew one free and clear. Works great so far.I was hoping the braided nylon would protect the wire connection to the lightning connector, but it seems to have lasted no longer than any of the other cheap cables I have tried. This cable was definitely not abused and only lasted me 7 months. For a while, I was able to get it to work by wiggling the cable at the base of the lightning connector, but no longer.

I purchases 3 of these for a long family road trip. Two of them worked fine and one did not work at all. Brand new out of the package and didn't work. Clearly there is little to no quality control testing. They are cheap so I guess if your willing to roll the dice you might be a happy customer?Update Sept 19th, 2106 - After writing this review Nekteck Direct immediately contacted me and replace the defective cord with a new one that worked perfectly. Very impressive customer service. Buy with confidence!

I'm disappointed to say that the phone end of the charging cable snapped off in a month. It was working great until then, but this poor quality makes any other experience irrelevant. There was no hard wear and tear on the product as it only stayed in the bedroom. We're upset to see this happen.UPDATE 10/28: I'm very happy to report that they have replaced the broken cord without a problem and everything is working great again. Since they were so easy to work with I've upgraded my initial rating from 1 star to 4 stars.

Although the cord is seemingly durable, it didn't last very long at all. After about a month the cable stopped working, which was slightly odd because I just left the cord in my car as a car charger. Didn't have any rough handling whatsoever. Maybe I got a faulty product, but for the price I expected a much more durable cord.** Update. The seller has contacted me and was very kind. They offered a refund or a new cable, and I opted to try the product again. For the good service I decided to change the review.

This cable seems to be of a higher build quality and looks/feels very nice. the joints and ends are well made and fitting seems sturdy. However, after owning this cable for a few months it has stopped working. I am not hard on cables at all, and the cable looks brand new.[EDIT] - Bump to 5 starsCustomer service was greatly helpful with a fast response. Cable is being replaced, and I will update my review again after some timeDuring normal use, this cable became extremely hot, and if i would have not noticed it, possibly could have caught fire.its now completely unusable and shorts out anything i attempt to plug it into.

I've been very concerned about the iPhone cables. They don't seem as durable as the previous models - and this includes the apple ones. But thus far this has been working well. The only thing is it takes a bit longer to register on my phone or ipad that it has been connected. There's more of a delay than my other cables. But the braided nature of the cord is a big plus because I feel like it's more durable and less like to rip - which has happened to many others.

I had this for 1 year of medium-light use (mostly in the house, not carted around in bags) and it developed an intermittent connection at the Lightning end, depending on which way I flexed it. The seller (manufacturer?) offered (unsolicited) to replace it even though it was a little bit past its 1-year warranty period. I give them an extra star for that good service.
