Tillman Heavy Duty Welding Blanket 6' x 6' (3-(Pack))

We use this blanket on our smoker when the weather is colder and/or windy. It does a fantastic job of shielding the smoker and enables a 25-30 degree increase in temperature than what would otherwise be possible under inclement conditions. Folds up neatly into a small package. Make sure you wear good leather gloves when handling the blanket though. The fibers are coarse and can really tear up your hands.

Love this! We use it for our smoker grill. Live in the northern U.S. where the north wind COLD! Obviously you will want to “tent” it to allow for circulation, but we we just use bungee cords to hold it down, if the wind is blowing 30 mph as it does frequently, & then keep the points of circulation open for the grill. Not to be left unattended for sure, obviously.

Blanket is heavy with good quality edging. There was some fg fibers loose on it but easily picked off by hand. A retired professionalwelder pointed out to me that A blanket like this is a good stop for general protection but does not provide a extensive thermal barriersuch as blobs of molten slag.

i use it to keep my pellet smoker warm and snug on those cold winter cooks. works great, I use bungee cord to hold it down, being careful to keep the bungee away from the hot parts of the smoker.

I am certain that this blanket will work just fine for its application except it smells so badly that no one wants to touch it or get near it. We hung it in the shop almost two weeks ago and the smell has not dissipated in the slightest. The smell is almost like mild dog waste.
