See Mix Drink: A Refreshingly Simple Guide to Crafting the World's Most Popular Cocktails

It's like having a texted book for a bar. It has easy to use pictures and graphs with history provided.

I always wanted to throw cocktail parties, with one issue, I had zero clue on how to make any type of cocktail. I would consider myself a drink enthusiast but a bartender apologist, until See Mix Drink. See Mix Drink made it easy for me to be able to confidently host cocktail parties and know what I was doing, without having my guests cringe when I served drinks. Now I'm able to stock my bar with the appropriate liquors and cocktail accouterments, and host a great party. I also leave the book out on the bar for people to peruse, and have given the book as not-so-subtle gifts to my other cocktail-challenged friends, which was in the end, mutually beneficial. I've learned there is an enjoyable experience beyond the basics of beer, wine, and a shot of tequila. Prior to owning See Mix Drink I would have failed miserably at cocktail night, now I look forward to my next opportunity.

Upon receiving this book, I noticed how easy it would be to make drinks using the large colorful graphs. The glass shaped graph shows the amounts of liquor and mixes to add for each drink. This is way better than my bartenders guide which is black and white and has a font so small I can barely read. In contrast, this book is perfect for the times after you've already had a drink or two. I also like how each recipe has a bottle display showing the number of liquors and mixes used to make the drink. This is helpful so you can quickly decide how complex of a drink you want to make. I'm also glad there's a finished photo of the drink. This sometimes helps my wife and I make a decision for which drink to make. As for the recipes, we've made 3 or 4 for now and my wife who doesn't like Long Island Iced Teas said this is the best one she's ever had!

I rarely get two of the same items, specially after was losing one. I travelled, and everyone fell in love with my book. The design, the way is broken down. the pictures, description and categorical grouping makes it amazing. I started making drinks at parties just by using the book. Make sure you get the tool kit to make drinks. I think the books is of great value. I had to leave the book behind in my last travel since my cousins loved it so much. I ended up buying a second copy so I can keep learning and use it as a reference.

I love the presentation of this book. If you're an engineer, it's almost a must-buy. I leave it on my home bar when we have folks over. Then I bookmark 3 or 4 drinks, and set out the ingredients for those drinks. A sort of self-guided cocktail party.One interesting thing about the book is that most "clear" cocktails are shaken, like martinis, manhattans, etc. This goes against the grain of the current cocktail wisdom, which recommends stirring cocktails where are ingredients are "clear" (alcoholic) and shaking cocktails with non-clear ingredients like juices, milk, etc. I tend toward the stirring method, so I don't necessarily follow all the recipes. But exploring new recipes is great.

I got tossed behind a bar one day at work because somebody quit. I remembered seeing this book before and I picked it up right away. I like the way the book is laid out. It gives you lots of information about each drink and you can learn from the diagrams or the text. It's a great way to visualize the drinks before you even make them. I also enjoyed the choices of drinks that are included. Really covers most of the basics you would encounter just starting out. Without adding all the popular drinks of yesteryear. I only wish that the binding was such that it would lay completely flat so I can read while making drinks but it hasn't been too troubling.

This is a really cool and useful book to have in your bar. All of the drink recipes are presented as infographics that give you a good idea of the proper proportions and look super cool. I have a few bar tending books that contain a bunch of recipes, but none of them are as fun as this one.Also, I had the opportunity to interact with Brian, the author and he's a real class guy. If you were looking for one more reason to buy this book, it's always good to do business with people who get it.Grab this one for your bar!

Heard about the book in GQ and ordered a copy as it looked interesting. Within minutes of looking at it after it arrived, I went back online to order more copies for my dad and brother-in-law for stocking stuffers. The book has a unique visual way on presenting the drinks. Not only is it easy to make the drinks, but it's easy to pick out which ones appeal to me. I'm no longer having a beer every time I want a drink as I now have the interest and know-how to make cocktails thanks to this book.

Fun to have around, and the visuals are amazing.The major limitation is that you need to have a very large liquor cabinet with a lot of variety. I think it would be helpful if future versions had a list of recommended bottles to buy that would allow you to make many different cocktails. Overall very good.

After using this book, I bought one as a gift for my sister, and one for myself. It is very easy to understand and use, offering the history of the different cocktails and presenting them in an almost scientific way. This book is very refreshing since unlike many cocktail books, it does not offer 1001 different cocktails, but rather sticks to the classics. The pictures and charts help a lot as well.

This book is really pretty, but I found that a lot of the ingredients in this book where not something that i would keep on hand, or things that i would go through in my kitchen just to try out drinks, but the recipes are very well explained and the book looks really nice. An interesting read.

Beautiful book. I love the stylized look and color coding of this interesting book. It serves as a great intro into making your own drinks.
