5 Years of use and still going - Excellent value for money
Still going 5 years later. Check info at the bottom. I've had a few portable speakers in my time, and this one is easily the best. It's also the largest by far, and I wouldn't really consider it to be a speaker you can just chuck in your bag when you're going somewhere. It fits in a rucksack, but doesn't leave room for much else. Speakers I have owned / currently own. MiniRig v1 Anker Soundcore 2 Anker Soundcore Boost Aukey 11w Speaker (discontinued) My previous favourite speaker from the above is probably the Boost, and it's what I've been using in the workshop until I purchased the W-King D8. The W-King D8 has a very big sound. It's the first speaker I've had where it isn't obvious that you're listening to something portable. It has the reach, clarity and fullness of something more like a hifi or other "permanent" audio set up. It goes incredibly loud without distorting, and the bass response is pretty good too. I would say that at low volumes the Soundcore Boost perhaps has slightly more bass, but the bass quickly dies out at higher volumes on the Boost. On the D8, you get a reasonable to good amount of bass all the way up to the loudest volume. The EQ button is slightly unusual, it just switches between 2 modes - one of them being brighter than the other. The brightness is OK is some music genres, but in others it adds too much treble. I prefer the default setting 90% of the time. The battery life is excellent. I had it playing most of the day and it only dropped by roughly 30%. It loses one star only because of these three reasons: 1) Whilst the bass response is pretty good, I would like to hear just a little bit more. 2) The volume control doesn't link with my Pixel 3a. Both volumes (phone and speaker) are independent of one another. For example to get full volume you would need to turn both the speaker and your phone to full volume. A mild inconvenience. 3) Like most budget speakers, there is a slight de-sync when watching a video on your phone. Update December 2025: This speaker has been used pretty much every Weekday in a dusty and dirty workshop since I bought it in 2020. It still works exactly as it did when it was new, and the battery doesn't seem to have taken much if any of a hit in all this time either. W-King did an excellent job with this speaker, I would highly recommend it.

The bass on this speaker is INSANE!
I wanted to leave a review for this speaker, because when I was looking for one I looked at the reviews and bought this one after reading the good reviews. And I wanted to let people know my honest opinion so it may help someone decide wether to get it or not. I swear this is the best speaker I've ever heard! I wanted one for my living room that's loud enough for me to hear while cleaning in other rooms. I wanted a good bass and I got it! It is really loud! It's the best 50 something pounds I've spent! W.king is just so underrated! The sound is clear and I never thought I'd say this but I actually thought it was too bassy on a couple of songs I listened to! Lol! It is so deep! My neighbours are going to hate me! Ha! All I can say is anyone trying to decide if this is a decent speaker - you won't be disappointed. I'm going to buy another soon so I can pair them. Oh and the instructions are easy to understand too, it's easy to use and has clear instructions how to pair them together. Also I think you can download their app to customise your sound. I'm going to look into it during the next week. Edit.. I bought a second speaker at Xmas and paired them, wow!! I waited till there was an offer on cz they've gone up since I bought my last speaker. The only mistake I made was, getting all black, when my other has a silver front!! Lol but I'm not too bothered, I kept it. I've had a problem a couple of times where the master speaker wouldn't turn off. So the advice I'd give, is when you turn them on together, put the master on 1st then turn the other on, wait for them to pair THEN turn the Bluetooth on after they've paired cz sometimes it's sort of messed them up. But I'm still standing by my original review these speakers are the best!!

Very "full" sound even outside on the beach with a party of 80
I bought this little speaker as a "temporary" Bluetooth speaker I take to Firejams and beach parties figuring that at this price range it wouldn't be much louder than the other ones I've seen friends take down there. I was wrong and I won't need to replace it with anything... This speaker goes so loud and has so much punch that you can feel the vibrations from the bass in the sand on the beach from a good 10 - 15 meters away and you can "feel" it outside. This speaker will overpower a party of 80 people outside easily if needed. While the bass is non-directional the mid and high only comes out the side with the grill but it has a wide soundstage so you'll want to have the grill facing upwards if you are using it in a party outdoor setting. This speaker sounds B E U T I F U L when played in the woods <3 As for sound quality it's actually surprisingly good if a little bass heavy if you are using it in a small room. You'll want to "find" the right preset EQ on the speaker because many of them are too bass heavy, there are 2 that sound quite good, when you take the speaker outside however you'll see "why", The bass is not "floppy" and it doesn't crunch even when very very loud. I have no idea "where" the sound comes from because the speaker is a bit smaller than expected when I first opened it, but it sounded much much much bigger than I expected it. You may find the sound quite aggressive when you use it in a smaller room - this really is a speaker for outdoor or larger indoor spaces and the "aggressiveness" of the sound obviously evens out when it's used outdoors allowing the audio to sound rich and full. Every single person who has heard it was really surprised when they saw where it was coming from, this actually beats my friends 15" rave speaker which is much larger and heavier, I haven't tested it at full volume because even in a party of 80 dancing people outside at the beach turning it up any louder would have been uncomfortable but even when set really loud there was no distortion. The speaker has a fairly rugged rubber flap over the USB ports and is definitely sand proof and while I haven't tested it looks like it'd survive having a drink spilled on it, light rain or even an accidental dip in the sea due to the buttons, both subwoofers and the speakers behind the grill being made of rubber, metal and plastic. All the buttons have "seals" around as well, so there is nowhere for sand or water to "get in" easily. As for battery life, I can't really comment because the battery has never "ran out" and it charges in around an hour and a half. I can say that this speaker was able to charge my friends dead iPhone and play music loudly for several long hours and it still had quite a bit of juice left but as of yet I haven't been able to run the battery down (since I always make sure it's charged up before I bring it out). After 8 hours of continuous play of bass heavy dub reggae at a very loud volume 2 of the 3 power indicator LED's are still on. The underside of the speaker states that it has 2 x 4000mAh batteries inside (for reference a modern a high end smartphone has 1 x 3500mAh battery) and because the speaker only does one thing (play audio) and is lacking in bloated and useless features this is why it lasts as long as it does. As for features, the buttons may appear to leave quite a bit to be desired and may be a disappointment initially but this makes for "easy, fast and quick" usage. There is an EQ button to select between several built in EQ presets (the one it comes with doesn't sound great), a volume up button, a volume down button, an "input select" button and a power button. there are 3 LEDs to indicate remaining power, 1 for charging and 1 to indicate bluetooth connectivity. As for inputs there is a USB-C charging port to charge the speaker (I haven't tested this to see if it'll play music through it). Meaning you could charge it from one of those power banks and it makes it easier to charge up in a pinch. There is a standard USB port which you can use to charge your phone off and there is of course an standard aux (headphone style) if your old fashioned and prefer to use a cable (hint: this will actually save battery on both your phone and the speaker). While I haven't done this on this speaker yet as I've not needed to, I can give some good advice on how to get both more volume and more battery life out of any speaker,

This thing is impressive! Hooked up to BT quickly. Battery life is great and the sound is phenomenal out of its compact size. I use this for my remodeling company and have played it for 3 days and it still hasn't needed a charge yet. Clean, crisp sound with good low ,mid and highs. It gets pretty loud without distorting at all. I will definitely buy another one for my wife to use as well. Definitely worth the money

Una bocina quizás no de la calidad de Bosé pero tiene buen sonido y la batería le dura bastante tiempo, funciona en interiores y exteriores.
