How good is the built in bra?

Just so you know. It is no a padded bra but an inner layer of the same material with an elastic underneath the chest to support you boob in place. Very comfortable and great support. Love it It also conceals very well.

I’m a 40g. at its widest circumference my bustline is 50”. will the 2x fit me, or am i out of luck?

I wear a 36C bra and a large in a cotton shelf bra from Old Navy. I bought a large from this brand and it was smaller and more fitted. Hope this helps.

I’m sorry to say you may have to see if there’s a size chart. I can tell do not put in the dryer. I hang on hangers to dry. Excellent items! I’ve ordered all colors. The best shelf bra camisoles ever. Good luck

Perfect!

Tighter and Less Supportive than other styles

I have bought other V for City camisoles and liked them much better than these. I purchased Medium in both styles and these definitely felt smaller and tighter I also preferred the other version with the thicker shoulder straps. I found that the spaghetti straps on this style did not provide as much lift or support as the style with the thicker straps. On the plus side, the fabric is nice and the camis wash well. If you are a smaller or thinner girl these would likely work well for you. For an average size girl I think the other V for City camis are a much better choice.

Read reviews from people your size before you purchase, especially if you're petite.

I'm 5 feet tall and 108 pounds and am not small in the chest. I ordered the small and as soon as I removed it from the package I could tell they'd be way too big. The fabric is nice and soft, and has a nice stretch. The straps adjust in back but not all the way across the shoulder like good bras for petite people. After trying it on, it just wouldn't work. Since it was too big, the shelf bra floated around and shifted uncomfortably, not staying in place. I'm really disappointed and have to return them: (
