ArloUltra 4K Wire-Free HDR Security Cameras Surveillance / 4-Camera

I first owned the Arlo Pro 2 security camera system, installed in January 2018. It was good, but I was just a little disappointed with its less than ideal resolution, to see fine detail. The new Arlo Ultra camera has overcome most of that, with sharp video capture to see fine details of car license plates, people etc. You can rely on this new camera system to keep up with your home or business, friends and family and all the action around your property. Businesses should love it to keep up with accidents, theft, vandalism, etc. Like the Pro 2, the Arlo Ultra system is very easy to set up, learn and use. And for those familiar with the earlier Arlo app, the new system will be very familiar from the start. I have four Arlo Ultra cameras, looking to add a 5th, running on power cables, and Arlo solar panels. You too can have an Arlo security camera system installed and running in a day. It's so easy, and a lot of fun to use. You'll sleep better too. Read the PC Magazine review of the Arlo Ultra system on line, May 2019. That says it all. Just do it.

Love the cameras, but ARLO does not have the power cords and other needed accessories available yet, so I can’t install them, I paid a lot of money for these four cameras and they are just sitting on my desk to be installed once I can purchase the other needed accessories so the cameras will work for me. I’m very disappointed, also to have to subscribe to very expensive annual subscriptions to record in 4K. Then they also say that even when you pay for the extra expensive subscription to record in 4K, you can not download those videos out of the subscription web link. This is making this purchase the biggest regret I have made in a very long time.

There are some inherent design flaws with these cameras. They seem to work pretty good at first with fairly good picture, but they do break after a few weeks/months. I've now had 4 they have all suffered from battery issues where they won't recharge, connectivity issues where they lose connection, cloudy vision almost as if moisture gets in front of the lens.Working with ARLO support is a nightmare. They intentional give you the runaround so you'll give up and not return the products. Currently 0-4 (0 for 4).

2345 Cameras have great video for a DIY. Audio to talk to someone thru camera is horrible or doesnt work but I can hear them very well. The video doorbell audio and video are great. The range of the hub could be better. I need another hub or 2 to use my cameras. Notifications and video is about a 7 sec delay but the recording is accurate. It will record movement but you will not be notified until 7sec later. You will need arlo motion lights to get the best from the cameras. Although the camera has a long line of view, movement must be close to trigger alarm. Therefore a motion light set out of range of camera motion can go off and program camera to record its line of view even if motion is not close to it. Montly service or self service is optional. I prefer to pay for the $10 service to record my video in the cloud for 30 days. You cant beat it and it comes with e911. Overall I would give Arlo a 4 out of 5. Great system is you want a DIY that will give you everything you need and easy to install.

The video is sharp. Activity zones have easily configurable polygons to weed out extraneous motion. Sound recording can provide good context to the videos. The software is easy to use and fairly quick to configure. Custom modes and geo-fencing make it easy to automatically set the system for daily use.

To recharge the batteries you have to get up on a ladder and take the battery out and recharge it and replace it back. Or if you hang the camera within your reach, it is easily stolen. Picture quality was fine, interface very clunky. Tried to share it with spouse and it worked only part of the time, If I am not at home, I would like her to be able to see what is going on at the house.Returned this item.

I don’t leave reviews often, felt compelled to do so for this one. As founder and CEO of a company that assembled and sold IP addressable cameras, I can tell you, without any doubt, that Netgear blew this one out of the water. I sold my company precisely because the technology I used to sell people/package detection for a premium a few years ago was quickly becoming in mainstream. Netgear’s ultra variant of Arlo nails all that. Insanely super wide fov w/ auto zoom and track. All this thanks to 4K image sensor, otherwise it would be too pixelated to work. This camera does what a PTZ w/optical zoom does, minus the moving parts and cost.Make sure you have plenty of bandwidth. Just installed a WiFi 6 mesh to get enough coverage outside.Buy it, worth every dime. Will buy several more to monitor our cul-de-sac and my other properties.

This system is great! We've had zero trouble. The batteries need to be charged about every month, but they charge quickly and it's no hassle at all to charge them! The quality of the image is great, it has excellent night vision as well! Its the perfect system for monitoring it yourself. The siren is not super loud, but it would be loud enough to deter someone from messing with something or scaring them! We looked, looked and looked for a system and we are so very pleased with this one!
