Beatiful Hazelnut Coffee
I’ve been buying this hazelnut coffee for my wife for a couple years now, and she’s still enjoying her daily cup… Strongly recommended!

Tastes like coconut
I should have listened to the reviews that said this hazelnut flavored coffee tastes of coconut!! I don't dislike coconut flavor, but it is definitely coconut and not very hazelnutty. If you're looking for a classic hazelnut flavor, this isn't it.

Not much flavor when compared to the ground coffee.
We usually purchase the Hawaiian Hazelnut ground coffee. However, we decided to try the whole bean this time around. To our disappointment the "whole bean" had no hazelnut flavor. It tasted as regular coffee. I am not sure if it was mislabeled but it had no flavor.

Not as subtle as I thought it would be
Overall pretty good coffee if you’re looking for a hazelnut roast. After reading other reviews, I was hoping it would just have subtle hints of hazelnut, but it was basically just another hazelnut-flavored roast. Good value for money, and it made pretty good cold brew (never tried hot brew), but I was expecting something more subtle in terms of flavor. If you like hazelnut coffee, this is good; but if you’re looking for subtlety, then I would suggest passing for a more traditional style roast.

Favorite coffee beans
I absolutely love the taste of these beans. Very smooth, not acidic at all. I do get hints of coconut but I absolutely love it. It has become the only beans we buy. Would recommend to everyone!

while I am glad for the organic coffee
Update August 17, 2016: I increased my rating from 3 to 4 stars because I realized, unlike the corresponding chocolate macadamia nut version, this hazelnut version does not create static discharges all over the counter in my coffee grinder when I remove the container of newly ground course coffee from it (for cold brewing). Also, I still prefer this hazelnut over the chocolate macadamia nut. I know that one way to reduce or eliminate static discharge of new grounds from machine is to spritz it a little with water, but who wants to do that, or wet ones hand stick it down in the beans before grinding. I prefer a bean that does not cause that nasty static clingy discharge of grounds. Nevertheless, I still would like a even better tasting hazelnut bean.As another customer noted, it tastes (or smells) a bit coconutty. Was using a local grocery stores hazelnut beans (JavaTaza), yet it was not organic. So, while I am glad for the organic coffee, for less pesticides??, I am not that glad for the taste. I will get used to it. I may also try a different flavor from the same company. Yet, I prefer hazelnut.

But why does it taste like coconut?
I really wanted to like this, I really did. It smells amazing. Looking for new whole bean hazelnut coffee to try to avoid going out to the store with the pandemic going on I decided to try this. It seemed promising. Sounds great, Hawaii hazelnut? Awesome so they use hazelnuts grown in Hawaii! But upon first taste you quickly realize it’s “Hawaiian” taste is because the beans are coated or roasted in coconut oil. The coconut taste overpowers the coffee. Which would be fine is I wanted coconut hazelnut, but I don’t, I want plain hazelnut coffee, this is not that.I should have known something was up when I started grinding the beans to make our house blend. (4 parts plain unflavored medium roast coffee, 1 part organic espresso and 1 part hazelnut) my not cheap, name brand coffee grinder struggled to grind these and smoke started pouring into the coffee ground collection bin. After taking apart and cleaning our grinder throughly I decided to grind up some espresso to confirm my suspicion. The espresso grinds perfectly, no smoke, no overheating. Try the plain unflavored coffee, same, no problem. Go back to the Hawaiian hazelnut and it starts smoking again. Inspect further to find the smoke has a distinct burnt coconut oil smell. I brush it off and mix up our blend. Make myself and my husband a cup of coffee. One sip and we look at each other and just say “it tastes like coconut!!!!!” Not bad for a novelty once in awhile cup of dessert coffee but not what you want when you’re looking for just a good hazelnut flavor.

I count this as a fail
Hawaiian coffee is usually much superior to the Colombian bean . This brand however tasted worse than canned Colombian. This package was shipped in ground state. The recommended time is two hours from grind to consumption for quality coffees. As a whole bean this coffee might have arrived in time to hold onto some of it quality providing it was shipped immediately after roasting.. .

Ordered ground, it’s labeled ground but it is whole bean.
Opend it before I realized. Can’t return it, can’t brew it. Disappointed.
