This has been surprisingly handy in the kitchen, especially for finishing things like desserts or giving a quick toast to food. It lights easily and the flame is simple to control once you get a feel for it. It feels like one of those tools you don’t think you need until you actually have it. It’s lightweight and easy to handle, which makes it comfortable to use for short tasks. Refilling it is straightforward, and I haven’t had issues with it not staying lit or cutting out during use. It also feels fairly stable when sitting on the counter, which is nice. That said, I still treat it with a bit of care since it’s obviously something that needs to be handled responsibly. Overall though, it’s been reliable and useful for both cooking and small kitchen finishing touches.

It does what's it's supposed to but I would not buy again. The torch feels cheap in hand and the adjustment is poor. It's either too much flame or too little.

I've never had a butane torch, so it took me a little bit to figure out how to use this correctly. Here's what I learned: The torch is easy to fill, but you have to push the butane canister down pretty firmly or the butane will just spill out. Some butane is just going to spill out at first, so commit and push down fast and firmle. It's the same kind of situation as refilling one of those office water dispensers with the blue 5 gallon jugs. If you forget to release the air before refilling, turn the torch upside down and leave it that way for a couple minutes. Any butane in it will settle to the top (now bottom) of the fues compartment and then you can burp the air out. You have to squeeze the trigger gently until you hear a little butane hiss out, then sqeeze all the way to generate a spark. Otherwise, it only lights like 3 out of 5 times. On mine, you can only get the butane to hiss out by squeezing the top of the trigger, so I'm not really sure if that's universal or wven intentional. It won't light with the flame set all the way to its lowest, and it questionable if it'll even stay on at the setting. If you want a very short flame, just set it all the way low,the back off a little bit and it'll be fine. Butane, like other fuels, will leave surfaces slippery if spilled (butane evaporates quickly, but the hydrocarbon additives stay as an oily residue). Clean up with dish soap, but it's best to refill over a junk piece or cardboard, wait an ~hour for the fuel to evaporate, then throw it away in the garbage (not recycling). If you spill a lot though, dispose of the cardboard at your the local household hasardous waste facility, or however your municipality handles it. You dont want to be the guy who made a garbage truck bomb. Overall, this torch works well once you learn how to use it. It's bigger than the lighter kind, so it lasts longer between refills, and the pistol grip is much more comfortable than a regular lighter if you need to hold it on for a while. I also like that it has a safety.

Review updated from 5 stars to 1 star. The torch worked great initially, however, it stopped working within a week. Unfortunately, the product support option leads to some general FAQs and there is no option to contact the seller. It's a very disappointing experience. ------ When this arrived, I had a moment of panic because the box showed a camouflage design, and I thought I ordered the wrong one. Once I opened it, I was relieved to see the torch was actually black, just like I wanted. Although, the green flame on the box looked cool. Filling it was simple, and the safety lock works great. One thing I'd improve is an indicator so I know how full it is. The flame is steady, and adjusting it is easy. I’d been using a regular stick lighter to finish the sugar on my crème brûlée, and it took forever and the sugar melted unevenly. This torch handles the job much faster and gives me a much more consistent finish. Overall, it’s been easy to use and feels like a good upgrade.

This thing puts out a really nice big flame but it's very difficult to dial it into a true torch flame most the time it's half flame floor that blows itself out pretty quickly. Feeling it is kind of difficult I did find one can of butane that had an adapter that fit The other three cans I tried the adapters that came with them didn't seem to fit right. I don't like that there's no window to tell how much butane is in it so you just have to kind of keep trying to put butane in till it seems like it's not going in no more. The adjustment for how strong it is is turned way too high , although it has a wide range of adjustment anything over the first 10% of adjustment is way too high to even light. You can mess with it and get it to do a consistent flame probably somewhere around 5%. It's well made as far as the casing is thick and durable I don't feel like it's going to break on me has it hard striker that lights it well. I honestly think there might just be something wrong with mine like maybe they didn't adjust it correctly at the factory I may take it apart and see if I can fix it. But it works very well for starting fires which is the point.

This is a well-built torch that feels solid in hand and puts out a strong, consistent single flame. It heats up quickly and produces a long torch tail, which works especially well for things like crème brûlée and other kitchen tasks. The adjustable flame control is easy to dial in, and the ignition lock makes it more comfortable to use for longer sessions. Overall, it feels like a reliable tool. The flame is powerful, but it’s more of a longer, broader torch rather than a super tight pinpoint flame. That’s great for general cooking use, but not as ideal if you need very fine precision. Still, for most kitchen needs, it performs well and feels like a good value

I love creme brûlée but have been too lazy and afraid to make it (fear comes from separating egg yolks and them breaking). Decided to finally try it and this torch is perfect for caramelizing the sugar. The torch is very light weight and feels good in hand. Even though it's made of plastic, it feels durable and won't break if dropped. When selecting butane full, the instructions say you must use the canisters with the longer tips. Filling the torch was easy. You are supposed to purge any air by pushing down on the same pin used to load the fuel. Loading the fuel was simple; just push the tip of the canister on the tip of the torch. I did not see or hear any fuel leakage after loading. There is an on-off switch which locks the trigger for added safety when transporting or storing. The flame is adjustable to suit your needs. I used the middle setting for my creme brûlée and the flame length was just right. Will definitely use this often for cooking but can see me also using it to help light fires in my wood-burning fire pit.

I like this butane torch lighter. It has a thick, durable black rubberized casing that feels solid and unlikely to break easily. It uses a hard striker for reliable ignition and has an adjustment dial for flame strength plus an on/off switch. The flame comes out big and strong, which works great for starting fires. However, getting a consistent true torch flame is difficult. Most of the time it produces a half flame that spreads out and blows itself out quickly. The adjustment is overly sensitive. Anything past the first 10% or so is way too high to even light properly, and a usable consistent flame seems to sit around 5% or lower. There is no fuel level window, so I have to guess when filling it and keep testing until it stops taking more butane. Some butane cans fit the adapter better than others one can I tried worked perfectly while the adapters on three others did not seat right. So make sure to use a butane like they show in the stick photos. (With a long nose) I used it to melt the sugar on top of a crème brûlée, and it did the job well! The big flame browned the sugar evenly in a short time without much trouble.
