Does good, my dog just isn’t a fan
I feel like if it was smaller he may like it better but it does its job nonetheless

Not Super Useful
I tried this with my dog and it did not work out at all. The file is big. While this makes it easy to hold onto, it also makes it hard to file one small toenail. It also does not file the nail down very effectively. It would take forever to do even one toenail. My dog wiggled free way before I got a few swipes with it in. Happily, it works fine on my nails.

So glad to find a solution!
My rescue dog is a 90 lb. baby when it comes to getting her nails trimmed. She's too big to wrestle, so I have to rely on her cooperation. She doesn't tolerate nail trimmers, or even a gentle dremel, so I got this nail file. While waiting for the crystal nail file to arrive in the mail, I started training my big fur baby by using a small emery board to gently file her toenails. With lots of treats and a gentle approach, she learned to let me file her nails with the emery board. Once this crystal nail file arrived, we worked on actually getting her nails filed down. She now lets me do one or two nails a day (with lots of treats). Eventually, I think she will tolerate more. The glass file came in a nice storage box to keep it safe. I didn't have any trouble with shipping breakage.I always use the nail file on a soft surface, in case it accidentally falls.

Not Textured Enough
I purchased this for my 90lb dog who is terrified of Dremels and clippers. Filing his nails with a crystal file is the only way we've been able to get the job done. Now, this particular file that I'm writing a review on is NOT the same one we purchased two years ago that worked the best. THIS file is smooth to the touch--no grit whatsoever. So not only does it barely file down our dog's nails, but it also makes a horrendous squeaking sound. I thought this particular file was the same as the other since it looks exactly the same in their pictures, save for the logo.So just a heads up for folks who are using files for their dogs--always get one that has grit/texture. Think like a traditional nail file for human nails!

Great file very pleased
My dogs will actually let me use this to get their nails to a more manageable length. Even the one who is deathly afraid of the nail trimmer will lay there and go to sleep while I file away. I was shocked. Great file.

No good for dog groomers!
This was a great file until the second time it fell on the floor, it shattered. No good. I’m a dog groomer and dogs get wild and many things end up on the floor. I didn’t think it would break so easy. Especially for the price, $14.00. I thought it was a special tempered glass that would hold up, but found out the second day that it was no good!Don’t buy this, unless you just use it at home and are very careful with it!
