An Execellent Text and Review of Basic Waterbody Water Quality Analaysis
I recently purchased this text (2024), published in 1987 to review some of the fundamental pad and pencil computations when trying to reconstruct derivations I developed in early college days for the dissolved oxygen distributions along the last ten miles of Rondout Creek, a tributary to the Hudson River near Kingston, N.Y. Back in the 1950's the dissolved oxygen disributions due to the ccity waste treatment plant was analized by the regulators as a simple flowing stream but did not follow the observations of DO found in the Creek. I prepared an analysis that included a tidal connection to the Hudson River based on longitudinal dispersion which fit the observed DO and could be expanded to include the additional loads due to an IBM facility moving to town. I was not only honored at my undergraduate college for "findinag an application for differential equations", but the paper got me into Gradaduate School. The book by Thomann and Mueller is still valuable not only for its algrebraic formatulations but also for giving great examples and usable estiamtes of various coefficients and terms.

Material great, paperback poor quality
I purchased this book for a class. The written material is exactly what I needed, but the workmanship of the paperback version is really poor. I knew I was purchasing a paperback, but I didn't expect to get so little for $100. Some pages are already falling out because the glue binding is so shotty.

Generally ok.
Quite tough to understand though. Was hoping some questions and solutions to go with it.

Well-through information to understand the basic equations and concept before using the R programming.

VERY POOR QUALITY
After the first use, the cover on the book became detached. After second use, the pages started coming out! What a rip-off!!! DO NOT BUY!I am very regretful that my return date for a full refund has passed!

Clear and concise yet a rigorous treatment
I used this text at Manhattan College's graduate engineering school and was fortunate enough to be taught by one of the authors. This text covers the material at levels that an undergraduate engineer can grasp, yet is suited perfectly for graduate level training. Written by some of the best people in the business, personally and professionally.
