Native American style Frame Drum 13"

Not only is this drum great quality and very well made but the sound quality is absolutely beautiful. It has the deep booming resonance I was wanting when choosing my drum. It also arrived much quicker than I expected. 10 out of 10!

This is a very nice drum and well made. I suspect with the proper care it will last indefinitely. Overall very happy with this purchase. I just wish they would have a picture more representative of what the average drum looks like. The pattern on the hide is nice but not nearly as interesting looking as the photo in the ad. This is the only minor disappointment.But this is what people do these days. Ads always make things seem better than they are.

Great sound, nice pattern. I will be adding onto the drum stick to dress it up a little. All in all well made and happy with my purchase 💗

Wow. This drum exceeded my expectations. This is the first time I've risked buying a Native flute or drum online. No way to test drive it first. As it turns out, the price is certainly competitive for the drum's quality. The hide on the drum I received is uncommonly thick for deer, & the frame is stout. Even so, the overall drum is lightweight & easy to handle. I believe these drums are made in MN. I speculate the hide on mine was stretched in spring or summer, when conditions were humid, making for a fairly tight drumhead. For readers who are not frame drum aficionados, hides tighten & go up in pitch in dry conditions, especially in the heat, & loosen & drop in pitch in mild, humid conditions. If the drum I received is any guide, I would expect these drums to perform well in mild, humid climates. It's hard to imagine the hide ever going too loose to sing. I would not, however, recommend this drum for dry climates, cold or hot. I expect the hide would be too tight to sing in places like WY or the Desert Southwest. Cold & wet outside, with a heater running indoors, would create similarly low humidity. The hide is thick enough, I don't think it would be at high risk to split, but it would not likely sound very good in low humidity conditions. Another sound tip, if the drumstick I received is representative of those typically provided, you will find that the padding on the head is pretty sparse. I get a much better sound with one of my small drumsticks that has a thicker, softer head. When conditions are mild enough, the drum's voice is surprisingly rich for its small diameter. I'm planning to perform with it at an outdoor event on New Years. Conditions may be cold & wet, & most of my drums would likely go flat, but I think this drum will maintain its voice. I think it may also function well in a sweat lodge, at least initially in a first round.

Extremely comfortable to hold. The sound is just amazing. It was near an open window overnight when it was humid and it really affected the sound the next morning. I held it in front of a fan for a few minutes and it went right back to perfect. I tried making a recording of what it sounds like, but it just doesn't pick up the true tone and resonance. I'm so glad I took the chance and got it. I am just thrilled with this!

This is an amazing drum. Wonderful craftsmanship, the walnut coloring is scintillating and beautiful. There is a rose colored stone embedded in the rawhide grip, very nice detail. The sound is deep and resinous, truly a magical drum. My deep thanks to the artisan.

This drum is a beautiful instrument. It appears to be very carefully handmade, and has a lovely natural dye pattern on the face. The smooth stone and rawhide handle on the back fits perfectly in the hand which makes it a joy to interact with. My drum has a very pleasing rich and resonant tone when played. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Love it! sounds good but the mallet is not the best for more profound sound.
