Guardian Tarot

Blank faces & unreadable
First I want to give my Love and Gratitude to the artist that made this deck. The images are beautiful, truly, and I love the tree heads they all have, like branches out to the Universe-- but the pictures just don't work for tarot, even intuitively. I'm an intuitive reader, so I'm very flexible with what's on cards to be able to interpret meaning from, but these cards all felt identical and empty, just like the expressions on the faces. The eyes being omitted was a conscious choice that I respect, but you could tell that wasn't how these pieces originally were designed, so it can be distracting seeing pupils wiped out of some of the figures. And actually the faces where I can see where their pupils were meant to be were much more striking. They gave direction to the intention. They held more purpose. The tree-like appearance of the figures lent neither to ecological messages nor metaphorical connections to the Universe like you would think at first glance, which was disappointing. It just wasn't taken the whole way.I really tried to like this because the art was perfect for what I was searching for, abstract figures and strokes of colors to evoke emotion, but this just missed the mark. It misses the emotion. I don't think the concept was developed to the level it was meant to take. You can really feel the impact these figures could have if the concepts were more developed without being overthought-- more *felt* out. The removal of pupils makes me feel overthinking took place at some point, whether in adding them initially or in removing them. I really hope this artist puts out a new edition with fresh art. I would buy it in a heartbeat because I love their style. But I do think the Universe is trying to push me to design my own deck this point of the search...

I’m not a fan of the artwork.
I purchased this deck because I really liked the art shown on the box. It looked like a dark deck, which I really like but only about 10 or so cards look as detailed as the box.It seems as if the artist designed a few really good cards and sort of rushed through the rest. The majority of the images are too similar without much to do with any visual meaning of the tarot. If the cards didn’t say what they were, you would have a great deal of difficulty figuring it out. Also the writing isn’t flattering going through the artwork of the cards.I really wanted to like this deck but I’m sorry to say as a long time card reader with more than 100 decks, it is one of my least favorites.I will probably hold onto it, just to have it in my collection but I don’t see myself using it.

Strange and wonderful.
I was attracted to these cards when I first saw them but they seemed somewhat strange in a way that it took me quite a while to buy them. The colors and artwork are really beautiful and unique so I believe that the deck deserves 5 stars. My only thoughts are that I’m not connected to them as some of my other decks for reading but I’m glad I bought them and will keep them. If you’re attracted to them, get them as they are special.

Pretty Art. Not your normal deck challenging read.
I love the artwork on these. The meanings are different and I have found that I am not a fan of the cards that I have bought from this publisher (red feather) they are thick. I like the boxing and size of the cards it is just that they are very coated and hard to shuffle. The art is very pretty but this is not a "normal" tarot deck. I have tried working with these and it is hard for me to just get the meanings of these from the pictures and the feelings I do get from the cards dont match up with the book. The little book is o.k. I wish these would have clicked better with me I keep trying to work with them it is challenging though.

Beautiful images but not for beginners.
I really love this deck. The images are haunting and seem to look deep into your soul asking for authenticity and change. However, I reorganized the titles using labels in order to make the images line up more with how I view the meanings of the cards. It works very well for me! I recommend this deck to all seasoned tarot readers as it may be confusing for beginners. Enjoy! ❤️

Surprisingly bonded to this deck
There is just something so beautiful about this deck. I wasn't immediately drawn to it, but I feel bonded to it in a very personal way. It just something about the spirits of the trees and the beautiful colors.

Hauntingly beautiful artwork!
I have about 100 tarot and oracle decks in my collection and this one is probably the most haunting and unique deck I own. At first I found it to be "creepy" but as I worked with it, it became beautiful to me. The symbolism on the cards make them very easy to read. I do find that for me this deck reads more like an oracle deck than a tarot deck, but that is fine for me. I'm not a big RWS fan. The artwork and the color of the cards are amazing.I'm seriously thinking about buying a back-up deck, that's how much I love it!

Beautiful cardstock and imagery
The moment I saw these images I knew they were made for me. Beautiful and deep. Very much a deck for working on yourself. Nothing gets past this deck.Beautiful thick cards. The book includes reverse meanings and has alot of information to add to your spiritual dictionary.

Incredible art, so so tarot.
This artist is incredibly talented. The art is provocative and well executed but does it convey the archetypical energy of tarot? Sadly, no. Like many decks today, this deck approaches tarot from a more of a self help perspective. This is good as an oracle, but a tarot is esoteric and philosophical in nature. None of these attributes are here. Also, this deck has been stripped of its masculinity. It has been neutered. In its efforts to be inclusive no ethnicity is pictured, but gender has been changed on some cards, Magician for example. This card cannot be pictured female as it changes the energy from projective to receptive. The Magician is a purely projective card. Gender in tarot is intentional and metaphysical not physical. They are what they are because they describe the energy not sexual physical gender. Unfortunately English is not gender neutral. The Major Arcana are not people, they are emanations of Divinity made manifest through energy. The polarity/gender is always metaphysical. I don’t think this artist has grasped this principle.
