Protected by CMX - 3 Years Later
Mothers CMX Ceramic Spray Coating — 3 Years Later Not my favorite product right now, but definitely one that has earned my trust and respect. Mothers CMX was the first ceramic spray sealant I used on my car when I bought it three years ago. At the time, I wasn't really into detailing yet. Life was busy, the car wasn't maintained nearly as much as I would maintain it today, and it has always been parked outdoors. And when I say outdoors, I mean 24/7 exposure to Philippine weather—intense sun, heavy rain, humidity, and being in a coastal environment. The paint has also never been machine polished. Three years later, look at it. No obvious oxidation. No cloudy or severely faded clear coat. The metallic paint still has beautiful gloss and clarity under direct sunlight. I'm not saying one application of CMX lasted three years—it didn't. But CMX was the product I trusted to protect this paint during the years when I wasn't particularly serious about car care, and looking at the condition of the paint today, I have to give it credit. Nowadays I've tried other waxes, sealants and detailing products, and CMX isn't necessarily my favorite anymore. My preferences have changed as I've learned more about detailing. But would I trust Mothers CMX to protect a daily-driven, outdoor-parked car again? Absolutely. Sometimes the best review isn't what a product looks like immediately after application. It's what the paint looks like years later. ❤️

Easy, fast, good ceramic spray
Works great so far. Needed something to keep the dust off the car and the black plastic cladding trim looking new. Easily to wipe off dust and pollen off the car's paint. Leaves a nice shine and smoothness after buffering it with a clean microfiber towel.

White beads appear if you let CMX sit
I applied CMX on my wife's car and my car and had odd results. See pic. I ended up with little white beads that formed when I sprayed CMX on car, wiped it to a haze, but not completely off. After about 2 minutes I then began to wipe CMX until the haze was gone. However, oddly, after letting the product dry (but not yet wiping completely off) it began to form white little beads (possibly residual). What a pain as these beads landed in all the window crevices, etc. It's like when you have a bad wax that leaves dust. I had to use a can of compressed air to wipe the bead out of the crevices. I was thinking that allowing it to haze would allow CMX to bond to the paint better. After getting the beads cleaned up I tested again and spray CMX on, then wiped completely dry. No beads. I'm waiting for the rain to see how it beads and how well it holds up against Bead Maker. So far, Bead Maker is more slick and I feel Bead Maker makes my cars look glossier than CMX. If the YouTube videos are right, CMX should hold up better than Bead Maker though. Also, CMX has no scent. It goes on milky and wipes away easily. No issues with washing microfiber towels afterwards. 3/1/19 - Update #2 Water beading is impressive using CMX. Wife's car sat out all day in rain in a outdoor parking lot, she drove home and car looked almost dry! Car looks like I just washed it. Shaking CMX before application and during application, still getting small white beads. I think it's residue after spraying off and wiping off immediately. I think CMX evaporates on towel and is creating small beads that fall onto car, like compound or polish that leaves dust residual, but these are tiny white bead particles...That's the only pain I see to using this product. 4/28/19 - Update #3 I've used P&S BeadMaker, Meguiars Express Wax, Carnuba Wax, CMX and most recently Meguiars Hybrid Wax. To tell you the truth, if you're a gloss and slick addict, it really boils down to how well you prep your car. Wash, clay bar, compund, and polish. IPA wipe down. Anything else you put on after will highlight the shine you prepped with all the pre-work. Anything you put on it will add hydrophobia results. Its spring and near summer now so you're not gonna test beading. Dust, lawn watering overspray, bird droppings, moisture from car sitting outside, etc. are gonna be your biggest concerns. I guess I'm saying all of these products are good, they will complement the work you do on your car if you're willing to put the time into it. And it will make it easier to maintain the next time you wash your car. If you don't clay and polish your car, don't expect super slick results. If you put the work into it, when you spray the car down with water, use a soap wash, rinseless wash, it will still shiny after you put any product on it! Don't get caught up in the SIO2 hype, just spend what you're willing to pay for the product. You'll be happy with any product. BeadMaker is still easy to apply and super slick. Might not last months, but if you're a gloss and slick addict, you'll be putting it on every week or two anyway!

What a shine!
I work at an RV dealer where they sell customers a $1000 nano-ceramic protective coating. This is basically the same stuff for a fraction of the price. It's the new generation of car "wax". Traditional waxes are literally a wax coating so it washes off. This stuff bonds to the paint, so sticks around a long time. You apply it like a traditional wax...wipe on, buff off. Even better, it buffs off much easier than wax. The car has an amazing, showroom shine and water beads off easily. Once the water beading property wears off (after about a year) the car still shines. When you apply the next coat, the shine gets even better! What about black plastic trim? Waxes leave white smudges that never go away. This product is the opposite; it turns faded black plastic into a deep black and gives it an amazing shine. So I use it on all my plastic trim. And I even use it on windows as it makes water bead off. It truly is an amazing product and is definitely worth the cost. Sales people say this lasts 5 years, but I find it works very well for a year or so.

amazing hydrophobic properties
I've had a car professionally ceramic coated using Opticoat and it never beaded water as well as CMX did. I applied the CMX in the morning, got an unexpected rain shower in the afternoon while driving home, and when I got home the rain had stopped and I couldn't believe my eyes. All the water on my car sheeted right off the car from simply driving. It wasn't bone dry as I did have to dry the grill, side mirrors, and trunk but still a sight to behold. What i look for in a wax is ease of use, gloss, value, and if it doesn't stains black plastic trim. CMX hits every one of my points. When you use as instructed (spray directly on paint) you will get white crystalized dusting but I found that if you spray the CMX on a foam applicator or a towel to wipe on that you minimize that. I love how I don't have to worry about touching any plastic parts either as this product will not stain. It will leave steaks and leave dusting so do not forget to buff it out after wiping off. A simply pass with a plush soft towel is all the buffing you need. I found the gloss to be superior than other spray on waxes I've used in the past; Lucas Slick Mist, Meguiars Ultimate Spray Way, and Optimum Spray Wax. Although, those products don't streak and don't really require the extra step of buffing after wiping off. I don't care so much about durability claims as I plan to use this CMX once a month and use a cheaper detailing/wax spray like Slick Mist in between CMX applications. Truly amazing value for the protection and performance you get with this spray on.

Super easy to apply, great results & no issues at all with my white car
Absolutely amazed by this Mothers CMX ceramic coating, it’s super easy to apply and gives simply amazing results. Personally I have tried the Hybrid/Ceramic spray on products from both Meguiars and Turtle Wax but this Mother’s product easily beats them both. In my experience the Turtle Wax product doesn’t bead water as well as I had hoped/expected and the Meguiars product is quite messy to apply, being such a thick solution it’s easy to have it streak if you over apply (which is very easy to do!). This mother’s product in contrast is an absolute delight to apply, it seems vital for longevity that you leave it on the paint for a few minutes to bond, however even after sitting for 5 minutes or so it’s super easy to buff off. The gloss is amazing and the water beading is streets ahead of the Turtle Wax equivalent and even better to my eyes than the Meguiars product. Not sure if the previous reviewer had a faulty batch, or if there were other issues at play with the paint on his white car but I’ve had no issues at all with the product on my Glacier White Dacia Duster. The only area I can’t really comment on yet is longevity - I’ve had this on my two cars for about a week. Looking at reviews on YouTube if you spray on and wipe off without allowing the product to bond onto the paint it seems to last just a few washes, however if the directions are followed and the product is allowed to bond for a few minutes before being removed it lasts far longer. Either way the product can be applied to a wet or dry car so reapplication isn’t going to be an issue for me as it’s so easy to apply and seems terrific value. Well done Mothers - think I need to try some of your other products now!

Great quality without the heavy price tag
My second order over two years. The quality is is great. I apply once every three months and the cars always has that wet look. I was actually amazed at the 4x4 in the bush and how the sand and dust just fell off the paint job.

Actaully quite good for the price!
Review: This is a surprisingly good product. Very easy to apply and it actually beads water off the surface for quite some time. I was planning to ceramic coat some OEM wheels with traditional ceramic coating but the one I had was out of stock. I was recommended this product and gave it a try. It works well! The wheels are still beading water after 6 months. Its not a permanent ceramic coat, but definitely a great stopgap. I also tested on my spoiler and its still beading after 4 months. I havent had the need to reapply. Pros: -Price point -Simple application Cons: -The contents will dry in the nozzle which will cause the spray to be very stiff.

Excelente opción para iniciarse en revestimientos cerámicos.
Hay varios recubrimientos cerámicos en el mercado. Decidí probar este para empezar. Me encantó. No genera daño permanente. Yo lo usé en un auto blanco y no se notan .
