Get Real With God!
I have been “a long time gone” from posting any book reviews, intending to write several, having now read more-than -everal “daily devotionals” that are superb in my opinion. My intention morphed, however, because so many highlights were exquisite that the idea became entirely too daunting. This is my first attempt to chisel away some of “the daunt.”This “daily reader” is organized into twelve months, each entitled as secrets: January contains readings on the The Secret of Adoration; February on The Secret of New Life in Christ; March on The Secret of the Cross; April on The Secret of a Life of Faith; May on The Secret of Power From on High; June on The Secret of Fellowship with God; July on The Secret of The Throne of Grace; August on The Secret of Intercession; September on The Secret of Inspiration; October on The Secret of United Prayer; November on The Secret of Brotherly Love; and December culminates them all with readings on Abiding Presence. The overall urging of this author is for believers to get personal and meet daily with the Maker of Everything: to get to know Him (not just about Him) and to enjoy the benefits of divine guidance and actual help. What he calls The Morning Watch is what I call Coffee with Jesus, and I agree with him that, whatever you call it, the result of proof that we don’t need to settle for meager fellowship with God. Murray shares convincingly that the mysteries of Christ are revealed to us by the Spirit of God in our souls. As Christ is formed in us, He dwells in us, works in us – and through us. And so we become “worthy temples of His glory” – not because of us; because of Him.Other “daily readers” for which I hope to post reviews include: Daily Open Windows by T. Austin-Sparks; Echoes of Eternity by Hal Helms; He Whispers Your Name by Cherie Hill; In Christ by E. Stanley Jones; Jesus Calling by Sarah Young; and My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers.DAILY IN HIS PRESENCEBy Andrew MurrayI have been “a long time gone” from posting any book reviews, intending to write several, having now read more-than -everal “daily devotionals” that are superb in my opinion. Life changing!
This daily devotional includes a short bio of Murray. Truly an anointed man!. He lived and wrote over a hundred years ago and his writings are still being printed. I bought 5 copies of this book to give as gifts; hope to buy more soon. Andrew Murray's books are hard for me to put down. His writings have blessed me with a closer communion with the Lord and a deeper awareness of prayer and intercession. The devotionals are written in modern day style/language and I have had no difficulty understanding them. I highly recommend his writings for anyone desiring a more fervent understanding of prayer and submission. Life changing!

Just get this!
This is the best set of writings from a very insightful and Spirit filled mentor. I keep buying copies to give away. It's not a simple devotional. It's a collection of writings from around 100 years ago from a pastor to his parishioners who could not get into town for church more than once per month. It was his way of pastoring from a distance. Anyway, just get the book. You'll be blessed with the straight-forward and insightful guide to the Christian life.

Short devotionals, but meaningful.
I visit a 94 year-old home-bound man with failing vision, and he can read it. The devotions are short, but meaningful and to the point. The large-print was the selling factor: he can read it!

This is a truly stunning devotional.
One of the top two devotionals of all time. I was given a copy years ago, and have read it through three times. It is deep, but understandable. What it is most of all, is deeply spiritual. Full of practical biblical theology, it is a must for those truly committed to knowing God.
