Great organization, strap came loose after less than a year
I love the capacity, the number and set up of pockets, the MOLLE attachments, and the way it lets me organize everything. Feels very rugged, although that shows in the weight (or maybe I just load it up with so much stuff the total is heavier than my previous carry.)Unfortunately, after a year of very light use (not much travel the last couple of years, y'know?), the seam of one of the shoulder straps started to tear. Sandpiper offered to replace, but I had to pay shipping to get this obvious defect fixed. Meh

Solid but with a few quirks
TL:DR Solid bag for the priceComfortI used this bag daily for two school semesters and for a four day trip in the field. It made carrying textbooks comfortable and secure enough to run with for at least a mile. The straps are thick and breathable. Sternum straps fits well and expands. Waist straps are functional but could use padding and an easier way to tighten them.UtilityI've never used a water pack with it but it looks like it fits. The aluminum back stays are nice and keep the back from crumpling. Laptop compartment could use padding on the bottom to protect it from vertical impacts. The three Velcro compartment section was a pleasant surprise. I keep my first aid and survival gear in the pouches. The compression straps work to an extent. It only compresses the main compartment and not the one previously mentioned. If it did it would cut down on a lot of the bulkiness and sway when moving fast. I may just resew them myself. The utility pouch is standard. I would like to see some kind of rigidity for the bottom because long heavy objects (textbooks) make the bottom sag enough to touch my rear. Maybe it's because of my small stature (5'6) but it's kind of annoyingThe only issue I had with quality is one of the front MOLLE straps tore off when I grabbed the bag from the front. Not a huge issue.I would recommend this bag.

A good schoolbag replacement.
I bought this backpack to help cut down on the number of times I needed to buy replacements for school. Out of all of the tactical bags out there, this looked the most casual of the bunch, however it still had that military look that's strange to walk around with. I made some modifications to the bag to give it a more campus-friendly feel and haven't had any issues with the bag. Compared to most school bags this can be considered an XL or XXL, but only lists as medium on military gear sites. The pockets are huge, the zippers appear durable, and overall has a quality feeling not found in typical school bags. This model includes 2 lightweight alluminum supports in the back of the main compartment to help with stability. I haven't found a use for the 3 velcro zip pounches for the velcro compartment for school use. If you're ok with sticking out a little bit because of the military feel, then this durable pack will suit you right for urban use.

Room to grow.
I use this for my small laptop I use at work, which may be at the shop or on a service truck. It has plenty of space for my personal phone, reading glasses and case, pens and paper, computer, chargers for computer and phone, spare battery, digital camera and spare batteries. It has more space than I need, but that is better than the alternative. The shoulder straps are nice and wide and it is comfortable to wear. It has lots of adjustments, so I think it could fit a variety of people. So far it seems to be well built and I have not found any signs of poor stitching. Only time will tell how well it holds up to everyday use.

Other than that great durability, plenty of pockets especially for traveling
would give it a 5 but a zipper broke on my first one in a little over a year. Other than that great durability, plenty of pockets especially for traveling. easy access to passport, change, documents, etc. You can easily fit a weeks worth of clothing and toiletries with some extra room.

Great Duty Bag
I used to have a large duffel bag that was pretty bulky and wasn't very easy to carry. So I decided to switch to a backpack style bag. I wanted something that could hold, 3-4 shirts, shorts, sweater, socks, towel, etc. It also holds my 13 inch macbook along with chargers and other stuff. This bag fits all of my needs and more, the extra webbing on the side allows me to connect my toiletry bag on the side so I can carry everything while on duty from station to station no problem. Good quality material, I'm expecting this bag to last me a very long time.

A Tuff Pack
Purchased in 2016 for $80.00My son has had one for over 8 years; he is in the U.S. Air Force so his is an ABU pack. The one I purchased is in Black. His pack does not have S.O.G. Embroidered on it, but mine does. His pack has held up extremely well to daily use which is why I decided to make this purchase. This pack is used daily for work and it gets its fair share of abuse. In my honest opinion, you couldn't get a better pack.

Bag falling apart
I have had this bag since late 2016. I have used it for all sorts of things, travelling, flying, when I'm on my motorcycle, rucking. However I have maintained it well and never put too much strain on the bag. Within the first month of receiving the bag two of the little straps attached to the zippers fell off. I didn't think much of it with the first one however after the second one fell off I believed it to be due to poor quality. Additionally the zippers have now started to come undone. I'll be jogging with my bag and the zippers will begin to come undone. I was very happy additionally with my bag however a true threeday pacl shouldn't pull apart or fall apart as it has with me. Rather disappointed as I was told these bags can last 5+ years. I will be contacting their customer service department to see if I can get a refund or at the very least, a replacement.
