Exo Terra Cricket Pen Size: Large (12" x 8" x 7.6")

I needed to house and dispense live crickets to my gecko. The Cricket Pen does both very well. I am on my first batch of 40 crickets and after a week, everyone is healthy and no one has escaped. The large pen is appropriate for 50 adult or 100 small crickets. I have had a small Cricket Pen for months. It showed itself to be durable, but too small. Unless you enjoy a couple trips a week to the pet shop, I would go with the large size.

These are the best cricket keepers available. Not a fan of scooping up feeder crickets in my hand, the tubes make mealtime for my chameleon much easier! No escapees, and if you keep the tubes out of the enclosure until about five minutes before feeding time, the gut loaded crickets will readily file right in, and all you need to do is just shake them out into your vivarium. The plastic flaps over the holes that the tubes fit into open inward which is very convenient for one handed operation. Great product.

This is the best insect keeper I own right now (I have three). I bought the large one to make sure crickets can't escape easily. The square tubes had ridges inside to make it easier for the insects to climb into. I also place a couple of the tubes in the dubia roaches' bin because even dubis can go up the tube. Of course, I don't put dubis in this container because they prefer the dark. Nevertheless, feeding our bearded dragon is much easier with this product. The insect feeders are also good to have. I threw out the sponge that came with them. I get the crystal/gel insect waterer/food and some fresh veggies (carrots, sweet potatoes, collard greens etc.) to gut load the crickets or dubis. This container is also easy to clean. The one flaw I see on this product is a hole on the lid. I taped it up to make sure the insects can't crawl out of it. Besides that, it is a very good bin to keep the insects for feeding reptiles and amphibians.

Received a broken product twice but the shipping box was undamaged both times. Great product but the box needs to be reexamined.

This is my favorite design. I like that I can take the lid off and still have the black tubes in place. Others have the tubes that come through the lid. Ordering a 2nd. I also appreciate the packaging. Shipped with bubble wrap to prevent cracks and all during shipping. Couldn't ask for much more.

I bought this item to keep my little beardie, Cheeto, supplied with crickets. It is more than enough space to house at least 60 of the smaller-sized critters. I think this pen is better than the one from another maker I owned previously. However ... one of the small plastic doors for one of the tube openings arrived broken. I taped up that opening and just don't use the tube (3 tubes seem to be adequate at this point) rather than risking escaped crickets. Other than that issue, this product seems to do the job fine. I especially like the little food and water cups that help keep things tidy.

I have owned several of these Cricket Keepers now and I can say this one is by far the best!. The fact that you can open the lid and leave the tubes in place makes feeding and watering the crickets much easier. I also have found that the square tubes work out better as well when it comes time to dump some crickets out to feed. The little food and water dishes work out well, if I were to recommend anything I would say the water dish should be a little bit bigger.(I use water crystals in mine and it dries out pretty quick) Other then that great product, and I would buy it again!

We got our first bearded dragon this year and have to keep crickets on hand for daily feeding. I'm not a huge fan of crickets, they're in the same category as roaches to me, so handling them is creepily disgusting. This system makes it so easy to not only house the crickets but feeding time is so simple. Just take the tube out (there will be plenty of crickets inside any given tube because they like to hit out in there), you can shake your calcium powder or supplements right into the tube and then dump the tube into the tank. We eventually upgraded to a 10 gal tank to house our crickets because we had to keep so many at a time and I rigged something up to hold these tubes so I could continue using them in the bigger tank. In this large pen we'd hold anywhere between 50-75 crickets at a time with no issues.

This is a great and very useful item for anybody with a pet that needs to be fed insects, particularly crickets. I use the large size it makes emptying out the plastic containers insects typically come packaged in the shops and also means that I can place plenty of fresh food for the crickets so they are gut-loaded before they are fed to my gecko. I tend not to use the trays supplied as I prefer to use fresh fruit and vegetables to feed the crickets but they are good for dried food, water gel or the sponge can be used if you need to use water but I found it tricky getting these out again when there were still crickets in the tank; you could maybe attach strings or something to pull them up to make it easy. The tank is easy to clean with few parts for muck to get stuck in but the tubes are best cleaned out using a bottle brush. I've had very few problems using this, the tubes are ideal particularly when you are adding a calcium or vitamin powder to your pet's food as all you do is shake a few of the insects out of the tube, into a plastic bag and add the powder and shake the bag out into your pet's tank. I don't remove the clear cap ends as I see no need to and there are no replacements if I lost or broke any of them if I were to remove them. Overall, this is great for people who have pets who need insects to eat but who prefer to keep the contact with the insects to a minimum and have few escapees!

Im Gegensatz zu vielen Artikeln, die extra für die Terraristik hergestellt und vermarktet werden und letzten Endes nur überteuerter Schrott sind, bin ich von diesem System wirklich begeistert. Ich habe ca. 70 mittlere Grillen hineingesetzt und diese passen nahezu vollständig in die Röhren, so dass ziemlich bald auf dem Boden tagsüber keine Grillen mehr zu finden sind (würde sagen ca 60 mittlere Grillen passen ohne weiteres in 3 Röhren - eine Röhre nehme ich immer raus, damit man besser an die Näpfe kommt). So kann man "ungestört" den Schwamm nass machen und den Napf neu füllen. Ich handhabe es so, dass ich den Grillen Pellets auf den Boden streue und in einem Napf Frischfutter, sowie in dem anderen Napf Gel als Wasserquelle anbiete. Das kann man dadurch einfach auswechseln, um Schimmelbildung vorzubeugen. Von Zeit zu Zeit kann man auch die Röhren ganz hinausnehmen, mit einem Stück Klebeband zukleben und dann die Faunabox komplett auswaschen. Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass man die Röhren nicht öffnen kann. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob sie sich so zwischen den "Grillen-Partien" ausreichend gut reinigen lassen. Sie werden auf Dauer vermutlich ziemlich stark zugekotet. Bis jetzt bin ich aber sehr angetan von der Box - es funktioniert so wie beworben. Der Schwamm wird leider gefressen und zur Eiablage benutzt, weswegen ich ihn alsbald weggeschmissen habe und wie oben schon erwähnt mit Gel fülle. Selbst angemischt kann man dieses auch noch mit Vitaminpräparaten "boosten". Nachtrag: Habe die Box jetzt seit 3 Monaten, heute wurden die letzten 2 Kurzflügelgrillen verfüttert. In den 3 Monaten ist mir nur eine einzige Grille aufgrund von Häutungsproblemen verstorben! Ich würde sagen, dass die Pflege so also ganz gut funktioniert ;).
