I love this dvd, interviews and all!
If you've been a Sabbath fan from the beginning like myself and you're looking for some insight from the Heavy Metal Godfathers look no further! This dvd is and will always be the definitive documentary on Sabbath. While I will agree the interviews weaved in and around the concert might be annoying to some I personally enjoy them. Sabbath concerts are a dime a dozen but to hear them discuss the band beginning with the " Earth " days is priceless and very insightful. I've watched it over and over and love it!Now on to the concert portion. The band is clearly in peak form and on top of their game here. It sounds like they were never apart. Geezer will always be Geezer, Bill Ward is Bill Ward and Ozzy sounds fantastic all things considered but to listen to how much Tony Iommi's playing has improved over the years since the beginning is the real treat here! Overshadowed early on by Hendrix, Clapton, Page, Beck, Gallagher, Blackmore etc Tony is finally getting some well deserved recognition! To be considered the Godfather of what is now known as Heavy Metal is no small task!

Watching these guys play is a treat.
The performances are excellent. Watching these guys play is a treat. I'm glad they're getting the respect they've always deserved. The mix is a bit muddy on the low end, so I took off a star for that. Nothing a good remixing and remastering couldn't fix.The mix is excellent for guitar and voice, though. Ozzy's singing is great, and more importantly Tony's guitar tone is absolutely fabulous, as good as on the records.People are complaining about how the performances are interrupted by interviews. I don't consider this a problem. It's a documentary and concert film in one. I completely enjoy the intermingling interviews. If you want to hear your Sabbath uninterrupted, you can always buy the accompanying live CD.

Spread 'Em
Terrific. Interviews woven throughout the concert footage didnt bother me because I researched this dvd prior to buying it... although, I could've done without seeing Ozzy not only 'moon' the crowd, but spread 'em as wide as he possibly could:/

Wish I could have been there
While there is a lot of commentary between songs, the music and footage is terrific. If you're a Sabbath fan, get it

Like everyone else
Like everyone else, bit irritated by the chat over some of the songs. Nice extra of 1997 which was missing from the original VHS, reminder of a great night for those of us where there. As a Sabbath fan who has to buy everything buy it.

Great sound visual mismatch - Video editors fault not band(not that helps the DVD lol)
Mixture of feelings about this one, great sound, picture clear, great shots etc but let down by really poor audio sync and general editing. I can't believe that some 'professional' that was involved in this didn't notice that the sync was out. The drummer hits a cymbal and you hear it a second afterwards afterwards & with everything else. Amazing footage great sound but the whole thing is out of sync(well certainly the music side - though I think some of the interviews are out). The talk over during songs is really annoying to, but it being out sync really hacks me off - how do these editor guys get a job. If it wasn't for the poor job of getting the audio in time with the music and randomly voicing over the songs I would of gave it 6 stars!! - think a campaign for a re-edit is called cause I can't see them doing another live Sabbath DVD soon if at all.

The editor should be fired.
I remember waiting for this to be released on VHS back in 1999. When it appeared after a couple of delays, I literally ran out of the store to get home to play this. Upon playing I became very disappointed extremely quickly. The editing is absolutely terrible. Interviews appear in the middle of songs! This happens several times and ultimately ruins the whole viewing experience. Why interrupt a classic song with an interview?? Shouldn't these segments be included in a separate section like 99.9% of concert DVDs? The DVD does not improve on the old VHS version in this respect. One day, hopefully, we will see an extended, no interruptions version of this otherwise classic release without the crap edits! Minus points aside, this is a definite purchase purely because it shows the greatest band ever formed in sublime form.

A REAL DISCAPIONTMENT
I WAS DISCAPIONTED WITH THIS DVD AS THE CONCERT IS INTERUPTED SEVERAL TIMES AND BITS OF INTERVIEWS ARE PUT IN - IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF THE CONCERT WAS RECORDED IN IT'S ORIGINALITY THEN THE INTERVIEW BE PUT IN THE SPECIAL FEATURES AS ONE LONG INTERVIEW.BUT A MUST HAVE IF YOU ARE A SABBATH FAN .
