BEXGarden Games - Wooden, 30x7x7 cm

This game is great. I was first introduced to it when a colleague brought it to a company barbeque. It can seem a little plain on paper, but its one of those games you just get sucked into. It is a good balance of skill and strategy, but you don't have to think too hard, so I think the nickname "viking chess" might be a little misleading to those that don't take this nickname as a shade sarcastic. Another great thing is that you can play it with various amounts of participants. 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, or 3 vs. 3 work well, so many can participate.I just got this set for myself and took it on a camping trip with a bunch of old high school friends. It caught on very quickly, and by night-time we turned it into a drinking game. And then we played all through the night, illuminating the playing field with a stand of halogen worklights.Honestly, I was going to build my own Kubb set, but when I saw the price of this, I just went ahead and ordered it. It is made of good quality hardwood. I loved my purchase and I recommend this to anyone interested in a wholesome lawn game.

I bought this set in 2011 when it was only $70. It's a good set, though it could be improved. It only has four stakes, for the corners. A high-end set should have six stakes so that the centreline can be marked. It should also come with a line (and winding bit) to lay out the 8 metres by 5 metres pitch. (A bonus would be to have loops in the line to put the stakes through.) Finally, the bag is a bit cheap. Some sewn-in compartments would be nice.At the end of the day, kubb sets are blocks and rods of wood. There isn't much to be wrong or defective. I'd give it five stars, but for the niceties that are excluded that I mentioned above.

Kubb is one of my favorite lawn games that I have ever played! I learned to play this from a friend and so I decide to buy it, it is worth the expense in my opinion, I play at least once a week if the weather permits. The only reason that I didn't give this product 5 stars is that if I didn't know how to play the game the instructions would appear vague and difficult to understand. If you want to understand the game better or need better instructions I suggest looking at this website [...] you can download the instructions and they are explained a lot better with some diagrams to assist you. All in all this is a wonderful game to play outdoors and by far my favorite lawn game.

I love this game! Great for summer cookouts of camping trips .. Fun to play, rules take a little to get used to but once you understand the game it's a fun game to play. They are built well and will last forever if you treat them correctly. The only issue comes down to playing in grassy areas, the wood is not stained and it gets noticeably dirty. Easy fix would involve staining them and painting them another color myself. Other than that it's a great set and fun game to play.

This is the best game ever!!! I got this as part of my husband's birthday present this year. Since he is one of those annoying (MAMIL) cyclist types, I figured we needed something to distract him from that blasted bike long enough that we could also all do as a family. We just moved back to the states and live in an apartment until we move into a house, and are constantly looking for a park or someone's yard to pilfer, in order to play this. It is great fun with family and friends, take with to a party, or as a de-stresser. Great inexpensive, creative gift for anyone.

This game is sturdy and well built. We had a lot of fun playing it. I would have given it 5 stars, if it weren't for the bag, which is absolutely terrible! It's made of very thin cotton muslin (the picture makes it out to be a sturdier canvas) and the pieces don't all fit in the bag. Overall, I would recommend this game because the wood pieces are of good quality, but plan on using a different bag.

The set is nice and complete with play instructions in multiple languages. I like how the king has red crown and included was a blue tote that fits the set perfectly. However I had used it four times before I forgot to bring the bag with the Kubb inside the house and it happened to rain that evening. Next morning I brought it in to find most pieces cracked - it turns out every piece was put together with wood glue (including throwing pieces) and many of them came apart. It is my mistake but I’d like expect the at this price point the pieces to be single block of wood that lasts in changing outdoor/humid environment. Now I am left with a very expensive set of broken Kubbs and quite discouraged to bring it out to friends outdoor parties. Consider cheaper alternatives or at least ones with a weather proof covered bag because it is easy to forget outdoor equipments like this outdoor or other ways to warp and tear the pieces apart

Kubb has become our go-to outdoor game. It's also a great conversation starter as you will have a crowd of people around you asking you about it. We always let people join in and play.You'll get hours of play.Tip: toss the bag it comes with and use an old back pack. The bag is wide and the items fall out easily. We know because we already lost on skull and one femur. (That's what we call them)It's worth every penny!

The batons in this set have a good weight - excellent.

A good product with a pleasing weight, especially the batons. The field kubbs and king are slightly smaller than regulation but not by much. I recommend this set.

Ich habe dieses Kubb den Sommer über oft im Einsatz gehabt und kann es absolut empfehlen.Ein paar Dinge dazu:* Ja, die Hölzer bekommen durch die Stöße Druckstellen. Es ist nunmal Holz.* Ja, die Hölzer nehmen bei Kontakt mit Gras dessen grün etwas auf. Es ist nunmal Holz.* Ja, wenn man bei starker Nässe spielt, kann das Holz Feuchtigkeit ziehen und Risse bilden. Es ist nunmal Holz.Wichtig ist: Druckstellen sind rein oberflächlich, es entstehen keine tiefen Furchen. Das Holz splittert weder, noch platzen Teile ab. Wir haben das Spiel stundenlang auch in Männerrunden, regelkonform aber trotzdem 'rustikal' gespielt. Also Wurf nur von unten, kein Schlenzen, aber dafür auch ohne Rücksicht aufs Material. Es ist absolut nichts passiert.Die Hölzer sind meiner Meinung nach zu recht NICHT lackiert, da sie so sehr schön in der Hand liegen. Die Haptik ist klasse. Sie kleben weder, noch sind sie zu flutschig. Lack sehe ich da kritisch. Hat da jemand Erfahrung? Auch Lack kann durch die Stöße porös werden und splittern. Will ich ungern dann in der Hand haben. Wenn durch beschädigte Stellen Wasser eindringt kann es schwerer wieder entweichen, was die Chance auf Risse im Holz erhöht, usw.

Great garden game and all ages can play together - skill and luck! Very happy with price and delivery service - in all deserving of the five stars rating. Would make a great Christmas present for a family.
