BLACK SWAN WEEPING BEECH - Fagus sylvatica 'Black Swan' BLACK GLOSSY LEAVES - 3 YEAR TREE

It's a weaker graft that is beyond obvious... not a low one either... I'll have to air layer this or make cutting out of it... definitely not what I was expecting

I bought this 'tree' early last summer. When it arrived, it looked like a dead seedling. VERY small. No leaves. It actually looked dead. Now I have a pretty impressive garden. 6 kinds of roses. 8 kinds of Japanese maples. So I am not a novice but I would think, buying a plant in June...it should have some leaves. I did everything I was supposed to do. Here I am - not quite a year later and it has done nothing. Not a single leaf. The limbs are brittle and I am thinking this seedling was in pretty bad shape when I got it, but I tried to give the benefit of the doubt. I paid WAAAY too much for a seedling that was probably or nearly DOA.VERY disappointed. This was the first time I bought a plant on Amazon. Will probably be the last as well.

I was looking for this type of tree since I saw one in a nearby neighborhood. I only found a few for sale, and the larger ones were outrageously priced. I only saw one other vendor with them available now, and they would not list the shipping charges until after entering payment information, so I gave this vendor a try.The plant and about a foot tall above the pot line. It was wrapped well and arrived safely. The buds are full and healthy. I believe this tree does grow very slowly, but I look forward to it maturing to a lovely tall and slender tree for a lovely focal point to the yard.

Much smaller than expected. It did bud out this spring and appears healthy.

this tree was not at all what i expected. it was beyond small. very disappointed. will never order this again.

So far so good! Tree arrived alive and well. I just planted it and I am looking forward to seeing it grow in my yard!
