Works extremely well
Not the shortest tool for the job, but locks bits in place with extreme security. Once in while, this tool is the only great option.

Works like it should.
I just used it as it meant to be used, and it worked well. I had wood screws that were too close to use a power drill. adapting a 1/4 inch ratchet to the job made the whole task go well.

It's a chuck!
It works just like a speed chuck and bridges that gap in your tool box. You'll need a small socket or you can adapt that up to a larger socket wrench. When you can't get your drill or screwdriver into that space........here ya go:) My hands are getting weaker so using a socket wrench helps. Appears well made, great adaptor, great price.

Look again . . . no plastic parts here.
So what can be added to the reviews after 119 of them ?Well I can tell you for certain something I suspected before purchasing this bit adapter . . .THE BLACK COLLAR IS NOT PLASTIC. It is painted STEEL. Probably "powder coated" paint which is extra durable. Powder coating is the way the car manufacturers coat steel (and other parts) that must stand up to the most adverse conditions such as suspension parts underneath the car. An extremely durable plastic COATING if you will. Why am I certain ? I took a small file and made a tiny nick in the collar on my adapter. It is most definitely metal under the coating. Why do I think it is steel ? A very small rare earth magnet sticks to it as well as it does the chrome plated part of the adapter. This is an important tool for me , if it works well, I have not used it yet, will update later. I have a speeder bar that I use a small torx with and the dang torx bit is always hanging up and staying in the fasteners rather than stay in the other bit adapters I have.I think this Pro Tools adapter could be just what I need.So there you go . . . no plastic parts . . . only a paint coating. My only criticism at this point is I wish it fit on my square driver a little more precisely. It grips and stays on just fine but there is more play than I would like to see. I might use some steel shim stock to take all the play out. I will be keeping this adapter on the one speeder bar so even if it gets stuck on that will be OK.I took off one star for rattly fit. It isn't bad but it could be better.I tried many of my various bits from three different manufacturers and they all fit VERY WELL and are tightly gripped by the adapter. There is virtually no play in the bit socket (only in the square driver end).Bottom line : I say buy it. It seems like it is quality; a durable tool.

I love this quick change tool
I purchased this tool to use as a modern hex bit driver for vintage tools. I have metal working machines so I made adapters to fit the 1/4in square input side. One adapter was for a Yankee style spiral screwdriver, the other was for a brace. I have a third tool I purchased to be used on a future vintage hand tool. The quick change tool is very compact. It will hold a hex bit with or without a recess for the internal ball bearing. Not much more I can say, other than I love this tool and expect to purchase more over time as I make the adapters so friends and family get to use their vintage hand tools with modern hex bits.

Great Driver Tool
I love the profile, tension of the lock collar and lack of slop in fitment. One of my better purchases!

Tricky to use, but works
It works, but I started out frustrated with the product until I figured out how to make everything work. The bit adapter is similar to a finger trap. You need to push in the sleeve then you can put a bit in. Oh, but the sleeve has no clicks, and it is very slight. The force you need to pull the sleeve back slightly is like pulling a lever on a pinball machine; not a whole lot, but a considerable amount. To remove, just do the same thing and the bit will be free to exit.
