These hinges are great. They do exactly what we wanted them for. We put them on our gate outside. They are strong and study. Plus you can adjust the tension on the hinges. I highly recommend them.

ask yourself why you're buying these hinges- i mean, it's easy enough to just push a gate shut right, so what's the point? The point is that when you let go of the gate, you KNOW that it's going to close behind you and your pets or small children aren't going to wander out into the street. That makes these "self closing hinges" completely useless because they are NOT reliable. The spring will remain under tension for anywhere between 2 days to a week before it just pops back to the "untensioned" state, meaning it's just a normal hinge at that point. You have NO idea when this is going to happen, so you're constantly looking behind you to see if the gate actually shut. Very disappointed because I was really glad to have found a spring tensioned hinge that looked heavy duty but if I can't rely on it, I might as well just have normal hinges. Returning this and buying something else.

They seem decently sturdy. About the same quality as one would expect to find at the big orange box. The springs don't seem particularly strong though. They "barely" close my 3 foot'ish gate with enough force to actuate the spring-tensioned lever/handle. Sometime it still requires a nudge. Durability and self closing as should easy to move the mount is post

I've used a few self closing hinges but have never been happy with them. These are amazing. Easily adjustable and have a good size plate to attach to. Comes with good size strong screws. I've got no complaints at all.

They only lasted about a week. Decent quality for the price. But not great

I used these hinges on a patio gate so it will automatically stay closed. Helps keep the dog on the patio when we are all outside. They seems solid and well built. No issues at all so far.
