Worth the upgrade but has some limitations
I had the Arlo Pro 2 three camera system for about 6 weeks before deciding to upgrade to the Ultra. I liked the quality of the Pro 2 but also recognized that the clarity of the video, especially with night vision, was somewhat limited. This was important to me because we had an incident where neighborhood teenagers were going around and pounding on doors and windows in the middle of the night. I did capture them with the Arlo 2, in night vision but there was also some shadowing that obscured their faces for definitive identification.The Ultra camera is much more clear in the picture quality, very clear both day and with color night vision, when it actually streams in 4K, and that is the issue.There are some things you must consider before upgrading to this system. I have high speed internet and my base station is not far from where my cameras are setup. I have full WiFi bars on my cameras yet I can only stream in 4K at random times. You should also be aware that watching the video recordings in playback from the cloud only stream in 1080 resolution, unless you pay an extra $1.99 per month, per camera for 4K cloud streaming. You can also insert a micro SD card that will store video in 4K, but it has to be removed and extracted on a PC which is cumbersome.I haven’t been able to test the 4K cloud streaming feature yet which is a little frustrating too. I have the Ultra cameras but can really only see replayed video with the same resolution and the Pro 2, so the improved clarity and resolution are obsolete. The Ultra camera system comes with 12 months of the subscription service for free, which I have had a difficult time activating since I had an existing account. I have been in contact with Arlo customer service twice to try to resolve this, however they have not been able to verify that my free subscription will be activated when my monthly subscription cycle renews. I have received multiple emails from Arlo support claiming that they have tried to contact me multiple ways, which is not true, so I’m stuck in a loop with reps who I am not sure understand what I am saying to them when I call (have to repeat myself multiple times so that they can actually understand me and I speak very clear English). I mention this in my review because the subscription service is $9.99 per month which was also one of the attractive features of upgrading to the Ultra system. As a result, I have not been able to test the the add on camera service to stream in 4K... the only thing Arlo support has told me is to wait until they figure out how to activate my 12 month free subscription before I add on any services.There are multiple positive features with this camera that somewhat balance the above noted issues. I am now able to use one camera to view my front entrance and entire front yard, as opposed to 2 that were needed with the Pro 2, which is due to the multi width options that this camera offers (120, 150 and 180 degrees). The quality of the video is outstanding, even at night with color night vision which is almost as clear as daytime video. I am hoping that Arlo is able to make a few tweaks for future updates the the camera and base that would resolve the issues with consistency in 4K streaming/ recording. I am also confident that customer service will eventually resolve my subscription issue at which time I can add on the 4K cloud storage option to get the best out of this system.

Purchased/installed 5 months ago, all is well
I really like this product. It's easy to get setup. It works as advertised, or at least it does for me. I wanted to use it for several months before writing a review, and so now it's time to share my experience. I installed my outside cameras to the ceiling soffit on the front porch, back porch, and side yard, 8' and 9' high, depending upon the soffit. They capture all the areas around our house that we want to be captured. We've got five cameras, one base station. Two of the cameras I have set for 180 degrees, one in the back yard, mounted fairly centered on my house, and one in the garage facing the garage door. We can see the whole back yard, and all motion in the garage too. The cameras record in color even at night, which is really nice. They also capture/record the audio. The quality of the recording is really clear/good, especially when I play it back on Samsung S10+. The mobile app works perfectly fine for me, and I also use their web portal sometimes. The motion detection works great, we see deliveries, kids/grand-kids coming into the house or leaving. You can share a video captured via the app itself, text, WhatsApp, or email, and it just directs the recipient to Arlo's web portal where they can watch the video. The other day I was notified of some motion in the garage, so I took a look, my grandson silly-stringed the Arlo camera in the garage, so I asked him about it, and he said he didn't want his grandmother watching him in the garage. So I shared this video with my kids, they all got a laugh out of it. Then I had my grandson clean up the silly string. Although you can watch the cameras real-time, it's not really real-time in my experience, there is a delay, so I don't think you could actually "chat" with someone on the front porch let's say. You get the motion detection from the front-porch, but trying to be truly interactive didn't work so well for me, so I don't try to use it for that purpose, and I never intended to use if for that purpose. I've talked to others that have Nest and other non-Arlo products, and they report the same behavior with those other products, so I think that's just the way it is for now.

Expensive Junk with no support
So, a few years I bought this system. Worked OK for a year or so, not great but OK. Then software updates started causing problems. Tried to get support, but online is useless, and phone support means you get to talk with folks that you cannot understand.Wasted $$ in a new base station, batteries, nothing helped. RUN AWAY, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.Pros:-Video quality is decent, when they work that is-Fairly easy to set upCons:-Battery life is a JOKE, and the online info is BS. I get maybe 4-5 days off a charge-CONSTANTLY GOES OFFLINE, with NO NOTIFICATION TO YOU. So, you expect a charged system to work right? Arlo goes down multiple times a week, you will never know it until someone comes to your door that was never detected. You try to look at the camera, and suddenly you get all black with messages that "Your Arlo device appears offline". Then spend another 15 min getting it back online. Traveling? You are hosed-Individual cameras frequently go offline vs the whole system. The ONLY WAY to get them back is to get on a ladder and remove the battery, wait 30 sec, reinstall it. Another 10-15 min process each time, which is multiple times a week-Support universally recommends deleting the camera and reinstalling in on the system. HUH? Another 30 min process-need help? Call and get introduced to call center reps in another country that barely speak english, and are impossible to work withTo keep Arlo up and running its hours and hours each week. These cameras are finally getting easier to connect to their hubs
After having non stop issues installing 9 other cameras and 3 other hubs and never being able to get a hold of a human help desk for the last two years during COVID, this camera & hub set just actually worked without any issues for a change, hopefully they have finally worked out most of the bugs in the software but it was a great surprise just the same to work the 1st attempt and not have to submit another ticket that never gets a call back about

Todo excelente. Las cámaras son nítidas, funcionan a la perfección. Las regresé por que quería unas con HomeKit video y estas solo trabajan con HomeKit.

What a piece of JUNK.Batteries last about 2 months. 10 photos per dayHad such Hi hopes for these expensive camerasThese cameras can Not handle out door weather , Can not get rain on them, as they are far from weatherproof. once any moisture gets in there it looks like the electronic corrode rendering it ususless.1 year warranty :(Tech support should be SIMPLECan not talk to a real person,I think the chat is just a Support Ai that keeps saying they will esculate trouble ticket.3 hours of my life on tech support chat to no solutions!I am very technical, not a prepetual whinner and CAN NOT RECOMMEND
