Why don’t these need refrigeration?

They're sterilized and sealed in heavy-duty packaging. They're kind of like canned food or military MREs, but because they aren't loaded with tons of chemical preservatives they don't last as long (2-3 years vs 5+ years for MREs). They also taste a lot better than MREs. .

What is "ebt"? I don't know. All I know is that we tried this product a while ago and thought it was terrible!! The fish was black and didn't look fresh. It was tasteless.
