This product is a good buy for the quality and craftsmanship. It has a vintage look and appears to be hand oiled. Yes, there is a slight smell of leather conditioner, which will go away in time, but it is not offensive. It is real leather and will require some care to keep it in top condition. I Bought this WerKens Strap for my Martin concert ukulele and the color matches the koa wood beautifully. No problem fitting over the standard buttons. The strap is flexible enough that it can stay on the instrument while in a very tight case. I can tell it will wear well and look even better as it ages. Very pleased!

Goatskin strap, stitched well and very sturdy. As other have stated, the leather comes a bit stiff but a little conditioner takes care of it. Mine became much more pliable and comfortable and though I haven't had it that long it is starting to break in and feel like it is contoured to me. Very good value, well made. Fits both my F and A models comfortably with enough extra strap to adjust to my 6ft height. Just purchased a second one.

As a new Ukulele player, I realized I needed a strap belt to keep my Ukulele in place while standing up to play. I was spending too much time trying to hold my Ukulele in place (bad enough as a newbie trying to keep up with the chord changes!). This strap belt made a huge difference in my ability to concentrate on playing instead of fighting the girations of my Ukulele while I was standing up to play. It is thick, wide, and adjustable to easily fit around any player. It also has a shoulder pad, which makes it even more comfortable to use. Oh, I have to add, I love the scent of the leather too! I found out the group I joined sits down in chairs for practice each week, but stands up when we do free singalongs. We play (free)!at homes for people (of all ages) with different types of memory loss due to auto accidents, falls, genetic anomalies, strokes, or some other forms of memory loss, including different forms of dementia. We also play at Hospice units. Wherever we play, the people seem to enjoy it, and I certainly enjoy it more now that I have this fabulous shoulder strap! There is such a difference in my playing using this strap belt, even though I miss chords, I am not fighting holding onto my Ululele.

Purchased this strap for a new A-style mandolin. It's wider than I'm used to for mandolin but is sturdy and comfortable. I switched straps with a National dobro mandolin and its great...perfect for the heavier instrument. It would also make a great guitar strap. The leather quality is excellent, soft, and the strap is fully and easily adjustable.

I looked at a lot of straps for my concert sized ukulele, but few of the many fabric straps available looked nice enough to purchase. Some of the patterns were absolutely outlandish, which is what attracted me to this product. The brown colors go nicely with the mahogany of my Lanakai ukulele. The strap is a bit stiff at the moment, something that I likely wouldn't find in a fabric strap, but I expect it will soften up eventually. It also cost more than the others I was looking at, but that's to be expected for a leather product that's made by hand. I'm OK with the added expense considering what I received in exchange. I'm pleased. Update July 8, 2019: The strap has, indeed, softened up. An absolute winner of a purchase. Still very happy with it.

As others have said, this product is higher quality than the price would lead one to imagine receiving when you purchase it. Yes, the leather is a bit stiff when you unroll the strap, but as you use it, it softens while still feeling as if it will last a lifetime.

When I first bought my mandolin, I bought another strap to use with it. That strap tried to work for too many different instruments, and I could never get my mandolin to sit high enough. This strap is amazing. Very well made. Real leather. And super adjustable. The nicest perk is that wonderful leather aroma every time I take it out of the case. As solid as this strap is, I am pretty sure the strap will last the life of the mandolin!!!

I like this strap very much. I recommend it to anyone looking for a well made “last a lifetime” ukulele strap. It’s so comfortable and very well made. I cannot recommend it highly enough in regards to the craftsmanship & comfort of this strap. It’s also had a great leather look. So cool to have it on my uke.

Awesome homemade looking little strap. I am using this on my EART SSS guitar. Looks amazing and just have a straplock on it to keep secure. I recommend this if you want a smaller strap and like the vintage leather look.

The strap is completely beautiful, comfortable and everything I wanted! I have 12 stringed instruments on straps, and have them in all materials, sizes and shapes. This one is superior!!!

Read some of the low rated reviews and just cannot understand what some buyers were expecting. Believe me this is TOP QUALITY and for the price it is a steal.It fits my 120 year old mandolin superbly. Very Pleased
