No good
No way to rotate made for 4β pipe or larger, could not get through a 2β pipe. Very bulky and not at all easy to use. Donβt recommend!

For experienced users; boring head actually 3/8"
The picture here on Amazon is inadequate, so there was no way of knowing that the "auger head" end of the cable would actually be 3/8". So if your drain trap allows only a 1/4" cable, you can't use this auger unless you want to use the less effective other end of the cable.Next, augers aren't easy to use when it comes time to negotiate a 90-degree turn if there's also another path straight ahead (e.g. double sink). Call it luck or experience; you'll need one or the other if in this situation. I gave up after a couple hours at it. Maybe it would have gone better if the only path was the 90-degree turn. Also, the "reusable storage tote" is silly: the auger comes in the kind of hard plastic shell that's notoriously difficult to open. If you're really careful, sure, it won't be mangled to the point that it's unusable, but it probably will be. And in no way, shape, or form can it be called a "tote."And finally, the handle is hardly revolutionary: you grip the lower black plastic handle with one hand and then use your other hand to laboriously rotate the metal center piece (all the while the thumbscrew will be getting in your way). While doing this, 13' of cable is flopping on the floor behind you. I had assumed that the torque motion would be something a little more sophisticated than this, but no.

I never used this before.
I didn't use gloves my hands got very oily, I also had trouble getting the snake passed a foot. I think nowthis is just one part of the tool.

Needed a plumber, this didn't work
As the plumber said when he saw this: "you might get lucky with this and get it around the corner, I've heard someone got that to work once". This may work great in some situations, but for my shower it was useless. There was almost no chance I was going to get it through the j-trap about 1ft below the shower drain, and the clog was about 5ft down. The plumber fixed it in less than 10 minutes with his power auger.I can imagine this working under my sink, where I can remove the j-trap and feed this into the drain. It gets around some corners, but I don't think it's getting around a j-trap. Someone with more patience and determination than me may make it work.

Wire OK but offset tube handle does not have enough offset
Could not rotate wire using supplied handle because offset insufficient to get enough torque to rotate wire
