Adventures in Japanese 1 Textbook (English and Japanese Edition)

Used this book in high school when I first started learning Japanese. Very easy to follow, and the information is presented in a clear format.

Used this textbook in highschool. It starts with romanji and works through hiragana, katakana, and eventually starts using kanji. This book is a little hard for people to use who haven't used it under the instruction of a teacher though, so I wouldn't recommend it as a first book for people trying to self-teach themselves. There's a lot of group work prompts in this book as well, so it's definitely meant for a classroom.

I am a Japanese native and tutoring and teaching Japanese language privately last 5 years. I recently purchased this textbook and workbook for one of my students who want to prepare for AP Japanese test in the future. This book is for classroom use which requires "a instructor". Not self-learning material. Explanation of grammar is very clear to English speaking students. Cultural information is accurate and enticing.Many group activities for classroom use are included in the textbook.I prefer using "Minna no Nihongo" for those who want to learn practical dialogue base Japanese ( in business level).For intermediate level students who tend to struggle to advance, I recommend Doraemon no Dokodemo Nihongo.

I love this book, it's great for beginners in learning this language! it includes fun activities for all ages and also has practice sections with songs to help you memorize the alphabet.What also was great was that it came right on time! right on the day they said it would!

I used this book in high school and loved the way it taught me. I used a different textbook in college and when I began a japanese club at the jr. high i work at, I went with this one as I feel that it is a great way to teach teenagers.
