A pretty decent basic unit for some rough ideas on air quality
In spite of some not so great reviews, I'd have to say I'm pretty happy with this unit. As directed on the on screen prompts, I calibrated the unit and when done took it roaming thru my house , had someone blow smoke at it and drove behind a smelly semi truck. Each situation gave results which I've had expected... Behind the semi and smoke both sent the unit into unhealthful and serious categories. One thing that is apparent is supposed real time actually has about a 15 second display before results start showing so you can't just quickly walk from room to room and if something like smoke pegs the meter at a high value, you have to give it a few long seconds for the sensor to start measuring normal readings again.Moving on, the unit is very easy to set, program, manually calibrate and give offsets if auto calibrate isn't satisfactory. It has decent graphing with adjustable rates of time.Being picky, it would have been nice to have a computer interface but for the price, I'm not complaining. There are 3 very slight annoyances the unit has... Every now and then the unit will drop all values to basically 0 as if the sensor is resetting itself or recalibrating but then continues right where it left off... And the second is the fact it only displays Celsius for the temp not F as we.typically use in the US and time is of course in 24hr format... And last is the fact that the data logging doesn't continue if you leave that screen to view other values. When you return, it starts completely over.

Decent unit if you follow the instructions
I do not have a way to validate the numbers but they seem accurate. I imagine this is a concern among many products like this. I initially used it without reading the instructions and it gave me warnings for formaldehyde. I calibrated it using the method describe in the manual and the numbers seem more in line with my hopes.I did use some clorox wipes in front of it and the HCHO readings spiked high for a while in that area. The oven ran at 400 for 40 minutes and HCHO readings spiked as well but this may be a false alarm. It might not be.It is important when turning this on to let it "preheat" in clean air outside of the house and to do the calibration for the first time as well as let it cool off if the box it came in was sitting in the sun when it arrived before trying to use it.It is also important to understand how these types of units work. They have fans that draw in a specific volume of air and are calibrated for that. When you walk around it will increase that volume or possibly expose it to more contaminants and possibly skew the numbers so be sure to let it sit somewhere for 5 minutes if you want accurate ratings. Its also good not to have it directly under a fan or HVAC vent for the same reason although walking with it seems to cause the worst of the fluctuations.

A useless device.
This air quality meter must be calibrated every time you turn it on. This makes it completely useless for anything other than a basic temperature reading. You must set the device somewhere with "fresh" air, and after the calibration, this becomes the zero point for each sensor. This means that, if your fresh air is dirty, you can't measure anything.Let's say I want to measure the particulate counts in my bedroom. I'd start the device up, leave it outside for three minutes while the calibration runs, and then bring it inside. Because of the pollen outside, the device took that as "fresh" air, and since my indoor air happens to be cleaner, the device displays a big fat zero for the PM10, PM2.5, and PM1.0 counts, making it useless for actually measuring particulate counts. I verified this by leaving it in my room for the calibration process, seeing that the PM counts were at/near 0, and then I took it outside, where the PM counts almost immediately went up.Tl;dr: This device can only make RELATIVE measurements. If your reference air is dirty, e.g. there's formaldehyde or particulate in your outdoor/fresh air, you can't gather any useful data.

Good for the money, accurate and fast response, no way to change from C to F. No computer interface, easy calibration first use
This is accurate and easy to calibrate first time for HCHO. This reads 1, 2.5, 10 PM most meters only read 2.5 and 10. This includes a fan and most do not even at this price range. It plots long term values but there is no way I can find to adjust time of recording. Also no way to transfer to PC. Also the temp is only in C and no conversion to F. It has built in rechargable batteries that uses USB. It has real time reading also. The response is very fast and when it goes into the danger zone it beeps and there is no way to turn off the beeps so you can't use in quiet places if you want to study the air quality such as a library. It should come with a case. It does not appear to be software upgradable. You have to calculate ppb as that is what the standard in reading air quality. It is not clear what the air pollution level number means but turns red when reaches 30. No standard I can find rates with those numbers.

My friend recommended me to buy an air quality monitor detector to ...
I have been using this consistently on a daily basis for almost 2 weeks now. I bought a new bed frame for my bedroom couple months ago, and the "wood smell" has been in my room since then and never goes away. My friend recommended me to buy an air quality monitor detector to see if the TVOC was below the standard rate and make sure it would not harm our health. Overall, this detector is easy to use.

Good
Wanted to have something like this after wildfire every year in the area to measure the 2.5 level. Got this and so far so good, just takes a bit time to figure out how to operate. Fun to play with to detect voc levels.

Glad I got it!
This meter is a treasure. It makes it easier to control the air quality in my home. I have asthma & it is better controlled now that I can check the air quality. It is easy to use & responds quickly.

Need to Study the Instructions
It's quality product, but you need to really read the manual. It takes some time to set it up properly, but once you set it up, it works pretty well.
