Shipping Container Vent (OD Green)

I needed to ventilate my 40 foot container but still keep it (land/rail) freight-worthy and these Seabox vents were just the thing; they are identical to the 2 vents that were already on the box (I was adding 6 more vents) and the Sea box vents did the trick; they have a gasket attached (so no need for silicone) and I added a small piece of aluminum insect screen to the inside of each one; the container is now MUCH cooler inside, and you can feel the cooler air being pulled in when you hold your hand over the lower vents. If you need to vent a container and don't want to cut holes and adapt other ventilating fixtures, this is the way to go.

This vent also came with a well thought out and designed paper template showing hole sizes and placements.I transferred these measurements to an aluminum plate to use as a template (I had several vents to install)You'll need to supply your own fasteners and sealant.I did have to invest in a higher quality 3/8" drill bit to penetrate the container's steel wall. With that said, cheaper metal bits probably won't work very well for you?

To be fair this is a standard shipping container vent and it works. There is nothing special about it. One really annoying fat that others have mentioned is the template that is included with the vent. Do not follow it as the securing points are off. Also, do not expect to get in screws with this vent. The package only contains the vent and a useless template.

The vent itself is fine, but the installation instructions include a template that doesn’t match the vent. It seems the template was scaled incorrectly when it was printed.
