General Finishes Water Based Milk Paint, 1 Gallon, Lamp Black

Oh my word! LOVE this paint! It is high-end for sure, but you get what you pay for- so you will be IMPRESSED! The first coat goes on so smoothe. Once it's dry, if you're like me, you'll think "oh, I kinda like that look, with the undertones showing through!" I redid my kitchen with this, and after the 2nd coat they were solid/no brush stroke marks at all, and as expected! (I heard of this paint through a local shabby boutique store, that actually used this brand on 3 furniture pieces I bought there). I bought this gallon because I wanted to be sure I had enough.. I was able to paint my entire set of kitchen cabinets, with about 3/4 of the gallon. That is double-coat, but touch ups here and there (worst part of painting, was the cabinet's edges of doors, and in and around the beveled designs in the doors, ugh!). I plan to purchase another color or 2, for my bathrooms. Our home is less than 10 yrs old, but I wanted to make it peppy, and to rid that "home improvement store cabinet kit" look! The Lamp Black is very flat of course, no shine to it, although you have to seal it with something, so I used their Water Based High Performance Top Coat, in "Flat" (I only needed about 20% of a gallon...). Oh, and I also want to say you do NOT have to sand or prime with this paint.. But it is recommended that you degloss the cabinets, so the paint can adhese properly. That was easy- I bought Rust-Oleum Zinsser 42124 1-Quart Paint Deglosser.. That did the trick! It used maybe 3/4 of the quart. I do plan to post photos, once my kitchen is totally complete! So remember, you don't have to have a "shabby" decor scheme with this. My kitchen is modern/rustic. This did the trick!

I love this paint brand in lamp black for creating a primitive look. It's expensive, but it goes on easily and dries very smooth. It dries pretty quickly and there's not a lot of gross smell. Good coverage with about 3 thin coats. It lasts a long time and goes a long way. I got the gallon because I wasn't sure if a quart would be enough for the fireplace surround/tv cabinet we just made. It might have been, but better to be safe. Now I need to make more projects to use up more paint.

**Fantastic Lamp Black Milk Paint!**⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This Lamp Black milk paint is fantastic! It's extremely durable and adheres well to surfaces, perfect for upcycling and cabinet refinishing. While it's self-sealing, I find the black color looks even deeper and richer when sealed. Highly recommend for any DIY project!

This paint is the most amazing finish for black furniture. The color is rich and a deep try black. The product is easy to use and covers well. A gallon will last a very long time and complete several projects.I just ordered on my third gallon to work on projects for my daughter.

Like all General Finishes, their Milk Paint products are awesome. They way they level out and dry are the best in the industry! Definitely recommend any of their products!

I have tried other paints and this one is my favorite for painting furniture. The black is a true black. Its self leveling so makes projects look beautiful. I did use 3 coats as it is a little bit thinner of a paint but it's so worth it. I will definitely be using this again and again.
