THey are about 2 inches across -- much larger then normal ones

Are they collapsable?

No, they are adjustable but do not fold or collapse

I notice there are 2 wires, one coming out of each ear piece. I presume they join at some point so that there is only 1 plug/jack. Please Describe.

There is ONLY ONE (1) jack plug!!

They are plastic. Kids use them at school. Haven't had to clean them. They should just wipe clean.
